Well fancy that !!!

Do you know what the world's first ever TV advert was for ????

Try some guesses (Unless you really know !), and I'll come back later with the answer.

Good try Pkagel !

With the rapid rise of TV in the 50's advertisers wanted their names inserted in program titles....Texaco Star Theater being one.

BUT it wasn't the first....by about 10 years !

Would that be a Watch commercial...

As in Bulova? I'm pretty sure this is it but I could be wrong....

I'm impressed.....more so because you're in San Antonio....one of my favorite cities in the world !
So close to Boerne and Rudy's....I'm dribbling at the thought of their brisket right now.

" On July 1st 1941 the New York television station WNBT-TV interrupted its normal viewing to show, without comment, a Bulova watch ticking.
For sixty seconds the watch ticked away mysteriously, then the picture faded and normal programming resumed.
It wasn't much, but it was the first television commercial"

From "Made In America" by Bill Bryson...a first class read !

How did you know, Reelwork ?

Well, ya know that fella Cliff Claven from Cheers?

I'm kinda like him where I have a lot of useless information...

Sometimes my wife loves it, sometimes she hates it... Normally she hates it when she is sure that she is right, then I give her the right answer...
