Wink Will it fit?

Looking for an opinion, do you think I could get this behind the seat in the wife's KR?

Uhh... no... LOL...

You might talk to dufunnel about his 'console mounted sub'. His rear console is a sub... pretty slick too.

That would have to be a pretty big console. That's a 15" sub.

I suppose I could port holes thru to the cab, and The ARE cover would be like a tunk lid. hmmmmm

heh, I did slap together this box for the expi. I got a little carried away though. It's about 2ft^3 bigger than the recommended size of 5ft^3 for that sub. I was going for the trunk bass sound that I used to get from my 83 buick LeSabre. I did get that achieved, and quite well I might add. I should've taken 3-4" off the top so it would be flush with the seats, but I didn't think that through enough. *shrug* It sure sounds better than the box it was in (1.5ft^3)

I've seen dufunnel's sub, that's pretty cool that a 12 fits in there. If you put one in each console that would give a cool effect and nicely distributed bass for all passengers. Got a question though. If you leave your arm resting on the cover too long do you get that same feeling as when you run an old chainsaw for a couple hours?

I don't know. I don't sit in the back seat. And for another thing, I usually don't have it on when there are people in the back seat.

By the way, I am putting in a second twelve. I have built a box that fits between the two consoles and now I am in the process of fabricating a fiberglass enclosure around it so it will match the two consoles, basically giving the truck a seamless look so the front and rear consoles look like one piece. It will probably take me awhile to finish though, since I am also busy doing other things. I will definitely let you know when I am finished though.

Is there room for a 12 between the consoles? I've got an 8 in a custom carpeted enclosure and it seems to take up and it seems to take up the whole space.

Yes, I already built the box and have it in. I just have to fabricate the fiberglass cover to make it look better. It is a tight fit, but it does fit.

Ya know, on second thought, if I had a dollar for every time a woman had asked me the question that is posed in the title of this thread, I'd be a very broke man... not a dollar to my name...

BD, some subs require much more airspace that others. There are some 12's that will run on one cubic foot (or less) of air space. I have a 10" kenwood on my home theater system that probably wouldn't fit in that area. Now that 15 in that picture you probably could get in that area as long as there is 15-16" for the speaker (it would have to go sideways). In the end it probably wouldn't look to great whereas a 12" would.

Yes, exactly. The Polk Momo 12's I have require a little less than 1 cubic foot, which is just about enough for the rear console and the space in between the two consoles. Very nice sound too.
