Wink 2003 King Ranch trip?

Are there any plans for a King Ranch trip in late 2002 or 2003? I am in Irving, Texas and after I bought my KR, my neighbor bought her black one and I would like to go. I want to buy some leather for the expy console I want to put in it. I miss it from the last SuperCrew. Let me know.

Damon,

For the KR trip, lead the way and just sit back and see how many follow. Planning for a trip to the real KR isn't easy, good luck and I can help you if you'd like with a list of most if not all the KR members on this site.

Later,

~DM~

Damon,

It's going to be tough to come by the leather. You could probably buy a suitcase or something like that and get what you're wanting but, as I recall, coming up with a sheet of KR leather is like chasing the pope in his popemobile with a can of RAID and swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated.... umm... okay, bad example. Long story short, it's hard to come by.... I think it could be done though from a suitcase or something like that....

As far as the KR trip is concerned, I would love to make a commitment but, as usual, work has me by the 'male member' thus, I can't make any concrete plans very far in advance. I'd love to go but, it may have to be at my own leisure. *shrugs*

seems as though you could go to a tannery and get something to match cheaper than you could get a suitcase to just rip up. with the excess you could also do other mods that may be nice like around the overhead consol etc.

Smile leather

I found a guy who located the Castano leather found in the KR. It took him a month. He is going to do my Expedition console lid. He is going to use the existing material in the factory one and just add. I have not been quoted the $ for all of this yet though. When I get time to go dwn there and see him I hope it is not a lot! I can't waite though. After using that console in my 2001 SuperCrew, I got very use to it and do miss it!!!!

Genuine KR Castano leather? From KR? Somehow I doubt it's genuine KR Leather.

To get a sheet of that stuff, you have to pawn your twig and berries and give up your first, second, third, and fourth born....

They're super **** about it...

I'd be interested in finding out where you found it... if it's real.

Actually about 10 blocks away from the King Ranch Saddle shop in Kingsville is the place where they actually make all the stuff. And yes, they do sell it. I think it is something like 200 bucks a yard to individuals though....

I dont see how all the KR leather in the trucks actually came from the King Ranch. I just dont see it possible...Thats ALOT of leather in each vechice...They had to have subcontracted it out to a few different companies to meet fords demand....

KR LEATHER

Well I went to the upholstry shop today and he can get me the actual "King Ranch castano leather" and it will cost me $145.00 for a yard of it. I do not need but a 3" X 10" piece of it, so I am debating wheather or not the expy console is worth it. If I can sell the unused leather to a few KR owners who want to do some mods to there KRs would be great. I do want that console though. After living with that Expy console in the last SuperCrew, I really miss it.
