KR Leather Seats

I picked up my new KR yesterday, immediately went out and
annd purchased a bottle of Lexol conditioner and did the seats today. I noticed immediately that the lexol darkened the leather
considerable in some spots and not so do much in others. Is this normal or did I screwup my screw.

normal w/ natural leather, don't worry about it, they will break in and just look better as time passes, much like an old horse saddle.

Hey, congrats on the new King Ranch. You're gonna love it.

I noticed the seats were darker after Lexol too. It won't hurt anything. You may have seen more of a difference then I did because my wife used the King Ranch leather conditioner first. Even though the owner's manual says to condition the seats 6 months from the purchase date, I think the seats should be done right away. Again, don't sweat it man, if you don't like the darker color wait a while and start using the King Ranch stuff. Ford will probably send you a bottle within four months or so. They did one to us anyway.

No worries... no worries at all. Give the Lexol a day or two, the color will still be slightly darker but, it won't be 'as' dark.

Our leather is VERY VERY porus. If a raindrop hits the leather, it will darken that spot. Basically, keep this in mind. If you can 'drip' it on the leather, it will darken it. It's natural. Leather is skin... skin absorbs things.

Lexol is a great product. No worries.

The KR/F150 Conditioner that you will probably recieve in the mail will darken the leather as well... it's just part of the game.

Par,

Conditioning the seats is just "par" for the course. Congrats on your KR and welcome to our boards. Man, you're the second new member today along with Chestnut, another KR newbie.

When can we get to know your KR a little better like pics, specs and future mods?

It looks like I'm going to have to reserect the KR color competition to keep up with all the new members.

Later,

~DM~

My KR just turned 30k miles....The seats still look great....Keep conditioner in the cracks of the seat and you will be fine....

I did not buy mine new and the previous owner only treated seats twice....

LEXOL made it nice....
