where is daveman???
does anyone know what has happened to daveman?? did his wife say, "it's either me or f150online"? was he looking for the "thunk" and the driveshaft beaned him on the head? did an errant nail gun take him down while working on that fence? or, did he trade for a cheby or dodge????
where be you, daveman...?
where be you, daveman...?
Knock, knock, knock. Who's there...knocker replies...Dave...guy in the house says...Dave's not here...this repeats several times.
Anyone remember this line?
Everyone concerned,
I'm doing just fine and so is my family and my truck. I've been hiding for several reasons. Here's my top 10...
1. I realized after getting to almost 1000 posts, btw this will be my 1000th post so you should feel distinguished, that I was spending entirely too much time on this web site. I've recently only been visiting once daily and reading.
2. I've been doing research for a better job.
3. I've got 15 hrs of studying to complete to renew my Professional Engineering License. BTW, I haven't started yet.
4. I'm in the middle of building 550 feet of privacy fence of which I've completed ~325 ft. I'll be cutting the grass today and building more fence.
5. I haven't washed my truck in months, that's depressing but I have conditioned my seats and keep the inside clean.
6. I've been working daily to figure out ways to reduce my debt. I think I'm finished with this part and the results are pleasing.
7. This forum sometimes brings out the worst in me and my exposure to this was starting to boil over into the emails I was writing at work, like cracking jokes when I should be dead serious.
8. I'm just not always interested in topics that seem to be very popular, like truck tops and all sorts of stuff that just seem silly to me. I just don't comment since that's negative and plus I like certain things that others don't so it's all in what you like.
9. I will admit that I was spending time doing research on other trucks and was thinking of selling my King Ranch and buying something used and fixing it up. In addition, I would have purchased a new Ford Taurus at 0% and invoice price but after doing the math it was worse financially than keeping my King Ranch.
10. I've been researching new cellular phones, service and long distance service. I was also spending a fair amount of time researching lawn mowers, replacement engines and such. I finially decided on a Snapper self propelled after owning a Cub Cadet from Lowes for three weeks and then returning it dissatisfied with it's faults. I was sure no one wanted to discuss lawn mowers so I kept all that crap to myself and drove only my wife crazy.
Hope everyone and their families are doing well. Thanks for the concern. I'll be around and reading and I may return to my old self once I get more free time. I know Skagel is going to execute me over number 5, I'm not proud. Each time I had time to wash it, it's either raining or dark. Maybe I'll get it washed later today after I'm about to drop from grass cutting and fence building.

Glad to hear you are alive and well Daveman. I am with you on my own version of the 10 reasons. (not that anyone asked)
My truck turned a year old a few weeks ago with 18,000+ miles. Took it in to get a new A/C compressor under warranty, replaced seat belt buckles under recall and repaired wiring on passanger heated seat which as far as I know never worked from day 1. Everything is 100% again. Drove a Durango from the company fleet while it was in, what a POS.
