Avalanche This!!
So..I'm at the office today and one of my assistances states to me "you like the Avalanche right?". As I step around her desk at 2:30 in the afternoon I notice she's surfing the Chevy site (note to self....as network administrator, remember to lock out access to everything "chevy" on the server) Of course the first thing I ask is "Why are you surfing the net at 2:30 in the afternoon" and second "what gives you the idea that I like the Avalanche?" She says "because you have that big truck brochure hanging up in your office". Well I do..its the King Ranch brochure, tacked next to the 2001 F150SC pullout. I had to stop what I was doing, take her to www.Ford.com, show her what a real truck looks like and then walk her back to my office and, in no uncertain terms, explain to her how ridicuously ugly and childish an Avalanche really is (she then told me her best friend just got one...too bad for him I said) After owning five Ford trucks in the last 3 years...its really tough to see things any other way.
Looks like I'll be sending a broadcast email to the office tomorrow, about 120 people, telling everyone I drive a Ford King Ranch...not just "a big truck"!

I read a really funny quote from someone on the SUPERCREW forum a while back that stated:
"I cringe to think how many rubbermaid trash cans gave their life to make one avalanche..."
I fell to the floor laughing... and, it still makes me laugh every time I see one of those rolling milk bottles.
The cadillac version is a little nicer but, still... like the Aztecs, I wouldn't be caught dead in one...

This person, that cannot distinguish a Chevy Avalanche from a Ford Supercrew, needs to be fired. They cannot be trusted in any type of job that requires the capacity for thought. Get rid of them.

I have a number of coworkers who have F150's and we all peruse the F150 sites daily. Everyone always points out that I park way out in the middle of nowhere and take up four spots underneath the most shady trees in the lot.
It always puzzles me how they can make the Escalade EXT look halfway decent and then the Avalanche just looks like total crap. Can painting the trim really make that much of a difference? Well, yes it can. I painted all the gray plastic trim on my fiance's Sport Trac and it really does make a huge difference.

she sounds like a common so. cal. soccer mom who knows nothing about trucks but wants a big one so she can scare other drivers. would you really want her driving a ford and representing the rest of you. let her buy that worthless avalanche.
my bro does bring up a very good point.....it pisses me off to see an idiot driving a gorgeous Ford truck, but when it is a Chevy I just roll my eyes and accept them for who they are......dumb *****..

the painted plastic doesn't even help that much on the avalance. I saw a pic of the avalance without alot of the pastic in canadian driver email list i get, and its still ugly. Apparently chevy will start offering the avalance with less plastic, but it doesn't help.
If they'd round the wheel wells out, remove all the plastic trim, remove the stupid plastic bed cover/headache rack, and add some crome here and there it might look alright. Still a chevy, but some of em aren't toooo bad. The Avalanche as it is is horrid. The Cadillac blends all that stuff together better and adds some more shiny stuff to the front, but I still think it's icky. Then I look at the price tag and my stomach turns.
MSRP starting at $50,015

the thing i don't get is what the hell are you supposed to do with it. when the divider is in the bed is too short and when it is out it looks as though anything you would want to haul would roll into the cab. bring back the old bronco and c-5 and then you'll have something there but a half a.. attemt to breed one with a pickup is just wrong.
yeah, thats the one i was talking about
and yes, it still is extremely ugly. Looks more like a regular chevy truck with a crew cab and short bed now. Looks naked without all its platic cladding

I guess Rubbermaid must have cut them off. **NO PLASTIC FOR YOU TWO YEAR!** (that's a Rubbermaid Natzi... those of you that watched Seinfeld will get that).
Chevrolet is struggling to keep up with SCREW sales and that's their answer to try to get back the marketshare.
I agree still very very ugly.

It's stunning!
Welp...I'm outa here....gotta go get me an Avalanche now that it looks so damn good! It's been great being part of this board, but, when the grass is emerald green on the other side, you gotta do what you gotta do. Guess I'll be bashing the Ford's now that Chevy is the truck to own! Wow...I still can't believe it looks so greaaaaaat!!
(Ok...I thought I'd hear my door crashing in upstairs as the whole bunch of ya's came storming in my house to see what type of hallucinogenics I was overdosing on)
