Well, the rear bumper on the 4x2 is pretty close to the same height, but the front bumper is a lot lower. Having a 4x2 Expi saved my butt once. I pulled one of those "assume the person in front of me did what they were supposed to do" things. Turning onto a busy street the lady in front of me (in one of those expensive Mercedes Benz sedans) started to go. I assumed she went and looked for my oppotunity. When I caught it, stupid me hit the gas before completely looking the other way *Wham!* She stopped half way around the corner. Anyway, Moral of the story, my bumper met hers thank goodness, and a benz is built like a tank, thank goodness. If I woulda been in a 4x4 her trunk woulda been toast. Barely tweaked her bumper, and you couldn't tell untill she opened the trunk and it wouldn't close again. The expi didn't even have a scuff mark. I've heard the new ones (03) have a plastic facia on em, that woulda shattered I'm sure. Hopefully they don't start using that on the F-150.

I did exactly the same thing as you did Mike once. You don't realize how big these things are untill you encounter a smaller car. You can barely feel it when you bump one. Luckily all it did was smudge the paint a little when it happened to me.

Ehem, ok, now that I've admited a couple of my dumb moves, anyone else?

Screw are long

i have been looking into a reverse monitoring system. I figured you could buy the factory one from the dealer, but I found out that is a big NO. Next option is camera and monitor. I have not found a reseller I can trust for this purchase, nor the quality I am expecting.

Let us know if find anything on the back up warning system.

You left a note? I've never thought of that. I back into 2 or 3 cars a week (man our trucks are long) and never bother even look at the damage anymore. Geez, if I left notes for everyone I'd have writers cramp. I figger that those people have insurance for that kind of thing anyway, and since my insurance company dropped me, they will be better off taking care of it themselves.

you guys are terrible.

Mike that was very honorable of ya.

I scraped my fender flare on the brick of the garage while pulling Tomas around from the back garage.....went out bought a new fender flare ($80) and hired a cement man to widen the driveway that leads around the garage to the back garage ($8500) problem solved. but that back up thing sounds like a good idea. but I neve park near anyone else. I will park acrossed the street and walk before parking next to anyone else...then again if I know I will have to park next to other people I drive the rice burner.

YOU GUYS?!? ALL INCLUSIVE?

What about honest little Rockpick?

Notice the FIRST response to his 'bumping' incident? I wished him luck and hoped that he got it taken care of fairly easily.

I'm so insulted. Hurt. *cries*

Ah HA!!! She finally fessed up to it! She VEHEMENTLY denied doing it for MONTHS! Of course, the blue plastic on the brick had her pegged from the start!
