skagel,

is the love affair with thomas over???

but seriously, i haven't noticed any orange peel problems on my truck. this current truck actually has a very good paint job...but my '01 was terrible with a multitude of exterior flaws and imperfections.

btw, i agree that ford could use a boost in quality control. they say they are doing things to improve on this front...hopefully it isn't all bunk...

Next time you'll skip the standard colors like blue or green skagel.....and order one of the optional upscale premium colors...errr, like Chestnut.

Logical,

A PREMIUM RESPONSE. Good job there.

---

Also, you all keep talking about this and saying it exists on nearly every truck, I SINCERELY DON'T SEE IT in/on my paint. I have a couple of paint 'splatters' where it looks like the automated paint gun cranked up and 'spattered' a little (front pass side hood - very very small area) but, that's about it with the exception of a couple of small knicks and a bug/rock ding or two.

*shrugs*

Maybe Chestnut is superior. ROFL!

RP......

Despite the supposedly knowledgeable response from a previous post, all paint finishes do NOT have orange peel in them.

As you know RP I have enough experience with vehicles whose owners would throw a fit and cause so much trouble if their paint finishes were remotely like that .

My chestnut KR shows absolutely no indication of O.P. and I have examined it very carefully.

No one suggested criticism....your tone just came across as a bit heavy.....as though no one else knew about the subject !

That was all.....!

Sarah....

Thanks for your peacekeeping role !

Sometimes though we all choose the wrong tone in a post....or simply misjudge the way something is said.

There is no harm in anyone politely pointing that out....we are all adults and to be blunt any forum like this needs a little edge occasionally.

I have said this before but although this is an F150 forum if that is all we ever talked about in the politest way we would all be tedious in the extreme.

I have never met RP in person but through a history of posts I know we share a lot of interests and ideas and I am sure we would get on if we met...but I once misjudged a comment to him...my "dry" humor" had not come across correctly.

He pointed that out...I clarified my post .....everything back to normal.

Shanker....

Congrats on your magazine features.....

A reply to put my point of view into perspective vis a vis your post will no doubt sound pompous....and as many long standing members of the forum will know I too have a history of many vehicles featured both nationally and internationally in magazines and I have been entering RR and Bentley motor cars at international concours level for 15 years....so I too think I have seen paintwork of the very highest quality !

See...I told you it would be pompous !!

We're **NOT** going to get it on if we ever meet in person. LMAO!!!!

In all seriousness though, very good last post. I agree whole-heartedly.

Lenticular...I didnt know you were a car guy, I just thought you were another KR F150 nut....although I dont show my HD F150 my truck of choice is my Chevy which was featured in Gauge Magazine...not big...but it counts in my book. The guy that did all my body work and paint has a very nice cover car on the Novermber 98 issue of Mopar Muscle (71 383 6pak Cuda' Prostreet) Obviously your not into that side of the scene but I only get to enjoy the Pebble Beach show on ESPN and TNN. hehe...im into the sport truck scene, its starting to slow down because of how cheap it is to build a ricer. (nasty)

neways....Since your from the valley, (im from Kinsgville) did you ever hear of a rumor of an estate sale that included a car collection of many nice rides including a Yenko Camaro and a HEMI cuda'?...ive heard this a few times but cant think of who in the Valley would have been such a collector.
