While out and about this weekend I saw a KR on a used car lot for sale. It was a charcoal blue '02 4x4 screw with all the options. It had 6k miles on it. its bed was scratched up and the tailgate had a few scratches, but all in all it looked pretty good. To bad I know it was driven in the salt. At first I thought it was a steal, but with X plan you could get the thing brand new for just a couple thousand more. Are these people nuts? 30k for a truck all scratched up and driven in the salt.

 

Skagel...here in texas you can get the same thing for 30 out the door but NEW.....When you went to Kingsville (My home town) didnt you go by the Ford Dealer just 2 blocks from the KR Saddle shop and check prices...they are dirt cheap...although it seems like every time you pull up to a stop light you see one......

 

I don't recall checking out the prices, but yes there are a few of them down there.

 

I'd say a bunch of the HEAD HONCHOs at the KR probably picked a truck or two up for a 'discounted' price (aka: free).

Must have been nice.

I can just see the conversation now...

FORD: "Well Mr. King Ranch Exec, if you let us use the KR name on one of our trucks, we'll buy you a bunch of Kentucky Fried Chicken and give you a truck."

KR EXEC: "That's mitty niice uv you to be so considerate with us KR Execs, we'll take your truck, you can use the 'RUNNING W' but, you can keep your KFC. We prefer beef products round dese parts."

FORD: "But, KFC is quality fried chicken. We hope we didn't offend anyone with our KFC offer."

I have noticed that pricing the King Ranch Supercrew for 2002 now says $30k for x-plan. Ouch! I'm glad I got mine when I did. I only paid $27k x-plan in May 2001 for my 2001 KR.
