I doubt there is anyone here you really have to apologise too. We all have lives to deal with. Things happen that you didn't intend to come up but you have to take care of it. If someone promises something there's probably a good reason if they don't come through with it.

Did you ever drop that ...umm... whatever.. in the mail? Sorry to hound you. I know I probably would have just been getting around to it too. I just thought of it because I got around to putting my Blackwood window moldings on last night and thought about finding my dealer's information to take it in for the paint work.

Just checking, don't worry I'm really not in that much of a rush. However I always check the front door step when I get home when I'm expecting something, so I want to know when I should expect something so I don't get my hopes up.

Hey dufunnel. Are you going to paint the trim moldings? I can't recall what they looked like on the blackwoods... weren't they the chrome ones?

I'd like to have metallic black ones. I hate the rubber ones on our trucks. They're junk. It's just about the only part of my truck that doesn't shine. I'm leary about putting some type of 'dressing' on them because, as soon as it rains, it's going to streak and I'm going to get pissed.

Were those moldings tough to install?

Exactly my problem with the rubber ones. After only a year they are old and no longer nice and black, and every time I put the tire wet stuff on them it runs down the paint. The Blackwood ones are the chrome pieces like you see on the Lincoln Navigators. They are still rubber, but have a chrome insert in them that makes them not stick out so badly if they aren't new. They look quite nice and they match with the overall chrome look I am going for. I don't think painting them would work as they flex too much. They were not that tough to install. They attach with just one retaining clip and otherwise just grab ahold of the sheet metal with a lip. Took me all of 15 minutes to put all four on. I will put pictures up soon if I can get around to getting out to the truck with a camera.

 

I love the idea but not sure about the look for mine. On yours, with the chrome wheels and all, it should look KILLER.... I have no plans to change out my wheels or add any other additional chrome and thus, I'm not sure it'd look right with the 'stock' look.

Painting them seemed like a good idea but, like you said, they're flexable. Heck, I don't know. I guess I'll just have to suck it up...
