Wood dash kit might be nice. I just picked up my '02 supercab King Ranch last night, and while I'm generally pleased with the interior, I still think there's oo much plastic.

KingRanchSC02: I have a question for you since you also have a '02 supercab King Ranch. Do you have automatic climate control? I was under the impression only supercrew KR had it, but I was pleasantly surprised when I took delivery that my supercab KR had it too! I can just set the temperature to what I want, and it cools and heats automatically to that level. I like it.

Also, does supercab KR have the saddlebag pouches too? Mine didn't, and I'm wondering if that's supercrew option...

I have the Ford one in my truck, and it matches remarkably well. I can't find the radio bezel picture I had, but here is one of the window pieces. I especially like the wraparound that so many of the aftermarket ones didn't have.

chaean:

i wish i had climate controls ...if it would have had them, that would have been a PLUS!! all the lariats i looked at had em, but who wants a lariat when you can have a KR!! do you think parts could put em in? is it just that piece, or is it comething in the computer? i dont know if it will work well with my remote starter, (which imo is the best thing i've ever gotten!!), cause i leave the air on so when i remote start it, it cools down the truck b4 i get in (about 10 min). i'm gonna look around for that climate control box, and see if you can just pop it in in place of the current one.

Now, Back to the topic

dufunnel:

the kit that i am want to get is made by people that sell the the dealerships. i asked them about the ones at the dealerships, and she said that they sell their kits to the dealerships...hehe. how much did you pay for ur kit dufunnel? how many pieces was it? this kit covers anything that is a small piece i believe...from the piece behind the door handle to the piece around the cupholders. and it's only about a 100 bucks

I'm not familiar with that kit. The Ford one that appears in the accessories catalog is the one I have, and for a Supercrew like mine it is only 5 pieces. For the supercab it is only 3 pieces though. I like the simplicity of it because so many of those are too much. I don't recall the price of my kit, but it is listed in the accessories booklet (although it can be had for less).

The panel looks really nice. I'm defnitely interested if the aftermarket ones look as nice as the one in picture.

re: auto climate control. I don't know how I got it. I just spec'ed the truck through forddirect.com, and there was only one dealer in my area that had KR supercab. I pretty much bought it sight unseen because the dealer that had it closed 6PM last Sat, and I went to a nearby dealer that closed at 9PM. The dealers were able to negotiate the transfer, and I went to my dealer yesterday evening to pick it up. I don't recall anything like auto climate control being on the options/upgrade window...

Since I have it on mine, it's probably just a parts swap and I don't think your remote starter has to hook up to it directly. The temperature is just set to a particular number and once the car starts, it either cools or heats to that temperature.

BTW, how much did your remote starter cost? I just ordered bedrug from Randy Pile. But since I can't seem to remember where I parked my truck most times I get out of stores, a remote starter with 1/4 mile range might be just the thing for me.

i have a viper 550 esp. its awesome!! i got it for $400 installed + tax. it is a remote starter and an alarm. its the best. i reccommend also getting an air horn and have the guy attach it to the alarm, cause the horn/siren that comes with the alarm is quite puney. with the air horn it is better. i only have it hooked up to the alarm though, not the horn on the steering wheel.

The auto climate control is not an easy swap. A number of us screw owners have looked into retrofitting our 2001's for this, and it was going to cost in excess of $700 to do. Check out the supercrew forum, it's in there somewhere.

I too have the DEI remote start/alarm. I have the Hornet 553T which is basically the same as the Viper one. I installed it myself though, and would not recommend anyone do it. It is a bear. It took me two weeks to figure out everything (although I didn't totally disable the truck). I paid $80 for the alarm on ebay and bought one of the Viper remotes so it looked better than the ones that came with it. So far it has been one of my best investments, considering how much they cost installed.
