The powerslide is really nice though....my mom's truck came with it and I didn't think much of them until I used hers. $684 is a but steep though.

yeah, try looking at a accessory shop. I think the place we got the ARE cover from sold the power rear slider for $400 or so. I don't know if that included the install

On my expedition I busted the rear window a couple years back and the dealer wanted $1300 to replace it *cough* An auto glass shop did it for $850 *cough again*

Although the button that comes with the Ford slider matchs perfectly with the button to control the peddles so it has eye appeal......I personally pay extra for eye appeal.

Should I ever decide to change my KR...(Doubtful)...can anyone tell me why anyone would want a power slider.
I have never opened my rear window (and no...not because I don't have the rear power switch to do it for me !)......I just don't see the need for it.

Prove me wrong !

They come in real handy on a trip when the cooler is sitting right outside the window.

If you have a conopy and have dogs, you can open it up to give them some nices AC or a pat on the head. (or to yell obscenitties when they are barking)

Some people like the way the air flows out the slider when driving with the windows down.

Big speakers (15's) sound pretty cool when the rear slider is open. (same applies to a sunroof)

When on a long trip you can send the kids through the slider to use the porta potty in the bed.

They guy behind you can't see you flip him off through the tinted glass.

The power slider keeps the fingerprints off the glass when the people in the back have to open it for any of the above reasons.

uhmm, that's all I got.

MMMmmm...

Seems enough !

Except I don't have kids....
Don't have a cooler....
Don't have dogs....
And of course I am totally polite on the road and wouldn't dream of doing anything that I would need to see more clearly through the open window.

Fingerprints on window....
Gosh...do you actually let other people touch your truck....
THAT's brave !
I must think about that one !

I got mine for airflow purposes, so when all the windows, the sunroof, and the rear window are open I get tremendous airflow and the truck cools off inside faster. However, it is nice for an attention getter when you see the faces of the people sitting behind you at the stoplight when you open it without leaning back to do so.
