Skagel got a promotion!!!!

It has finally happened!!! My main job here in Detroit is with a small company that is finally dissolving. I know it sounds bad, but it is actually a great thing. My most favorite boss, who I consider my Grandfather, is taking me with him to start another company doing the same thing. He has asked me to be his partner.....after much thought and diliberation I have been talked into it. So starting June 7th you can just refer to me as Ms. Vice-President

Well, that's it. Now you've got to put up your house... your rice burners, and most importantly, your truck for collateral for the bank.

It's a sad sad day here on the King Ranch Forum. We'll miss you!

No seriously, that's awesome Sarah. Kick ***. Congrats and all that stuff. Guess you're buying dinner and the first 5 rounds of drinks (Ms VP) when we're in Texas.

Thumbs up

Yesterday, I asked my boss, who owns the company, that if he was President, what my title was.

He laughed and said,
"Raoul, I thought you knew! You're the damn Chairman of the Board!"

"Now, lets get these lawnmowers off this trailer or the Prez and the CEO ain't never gonna get done today.

Damn right. 5 rounds minimum. No questions or comments.

Heck, Raoul is a Chairman of the Board and a CEO. He gets to buy the next 5 rounds minimum.

I'm just a geologist. I don't make the type of $$ you head-honcho's make.

Skagel, 2 rounds? That's freaking pathetic! You better build up some tolerance before your next Texas trip.

Exactly. You had better or I will drink you all under the table. I will live up to my screen name. I am after all just an engineer.

You are more than welcome to join the Prez an me for a few (rounds?). Is that the same as swigs?

We have a few each day (at lunch) and a few more when we knock off.

Not sure what it is cause he buys it and we don't take the bottle out of the bag.

We won't git offended if you wipe the top off with your sleeve.
(i do it too, when he ain't lookin'...)

Congrats Skagel on your new found position and opportunity! Good luck and I hope you make millions, just don't forget where you friends are when you get rich, haha.

If you guys need any Engineers to work out of a satellite office, then let me know. Of course, as long as the pay is around $100K annually.

Oh, and as far as drinks, I'm not able to drink like I used to. I bet at one time I could hold my own with dufunnel but those days are long gone. Six beers and I'm feeling comfortably numb as Pink Floyd would say.

My favorite drink is actually Vodka and Club soda with a pinch of lime. I can handle about six of those before I'm wiped.

Again, congrats and you go girl! We only want to hear good news, otherwise just lie to us.

Thanks guys....I am pretty excited about this, but am also extremely nervous...It is a small company not one of those multi-million $ companies sorry so I won't be getting rich....just doing what I have always wanted to do and the best thing is since I am the boss I get to come and go as I please......leaving me plenty of time for my son....since he comes first in my life.

Congrats on the new opportunity!! These start ups are always exciting, I did something similar about 3 years ago, and it was the best move I ever made. I want nothing to drink ever again, I'm swearing off alcohol forever (or at least until my headache goes away)!
