Smile Who wants to visit the real King Ranch in 2003?

Greetings fellow KR owners,

I'd like to start planning for next year's trip out to the King Ranch. I think I've seen where dufunnel posted that he'd be interested if it is a road trip. A road trip is fine with me as long as I'm not the only one.

Something that may sweeten up the deal may be to concentrate on a more long term vacation in the region, say, three to five days or more. Here comes the sweet part, concentrate on South Padre Island and make the King Ranch a stop either on the way down or the way back.

I think I've talked my wife into coming too since she can't resist the South Padre Island idea. We live only 40 minutes from the beach now but there is no comparison with South Padre to our local beaches. Besides, it's the vacation that's important and South Padre is definitely some place I want to return and visit.

Thanks goes out to Lenticular and his better half for introducing Skagel and myself to that wonderful part of Texas called South Padre Island and of course that quaint retirement community at Port Isabel nearby.

With all that said, who's interested in going out to the real King Ranch in 2003, and possibly meeting down in South Padre too?

Let's start planning now so we can get the maximum number of KR owners interested.

Here is a link to the tail end of the first King Ranch trip thread in case someone wants to do some research with this topic:

Skagel,

Okay, one down and fifty eleven to go. I sure hope there are more than just us as you and I had fun but just imagine the fun with a bunch of us, that's got to be the ticket.

Hope to hear from some others as we've got a whole year to plan this time.

Later,

Wotcha !!

'er indoors and yours truely will be there of course if the time frame is roughly the same as this year.

(Which really is the best time since Spring Break in SPI is frantic, and after May it gets really too hot and busier again)
