Cleaning Wheels Between Washing

I posted this in General Care but, after thinking about it, I want to make sure that the painted surfaces of the wheels are not going to be harmed by something suggested by someone without painted surfaces on their wheels...

With that being said, what are you all using to tidy up the wheels between washings. I've been relatively hesitant to use anything other than water due to the sensativity of metal to certain chemicals.

Would a product like QUICK DETAILER or FINAL INSPECTION from Meguires be suitable for the surface?

What are the properties for something to use? Low pH?

Thanks folks.

Anyone have any suggestions on this or do you all just wash your trucks continously and never do the wheels inbetween washings? That's basically me but I need to do the wheels every now and then.

Thanks folks

Rock...

I only clean my wheels at wash time. I barely take the time to clean my truck every couple of weeks and then I wash everything thourghly and completely. I would think one of the commercial wheel cleaners would be plenty safe in between washings though.

Don't tell Sarah that I don't wash my truck every couple of days because she'll go and get all pissed off. If she gets pissed, she'll have to tell me to take better care of the damn thing or she'll have to fly down and confiscate it from me and then drive it back to Michigan for what she calls proper care. I don't want that to happen, yet, unless she's willing to pay off the loan and dish out at least 5Gs

PS: You worry too much...

Later,

i'm not completely positive about this, but i think the wheels have a clear coating over them. thus you can wax them and that helps em stay cleaner longer and clean up easier.

personally i only use "stuff" for the tires and don't use anything special for the wheels other than wax and some elbow grease...not sure that helped anybody but there it is...

I've never tried to wax the wheels. That sounds like it'd be a good way to help keep them clean. Anyone else have any insight on waxxing the wheels?
