Talking Looking for Opinions - Lightning Heads and Corners

Well, I've basically thrown the sliding rear glass mod out the window (because of FORD) and I'm looking for something else...

I've run across a set of lightning heads and corners pretty cheap (relatively speaking)... I'm just not sure how it will look or if I want to change the 'stock front end' look. Anyone have any insight or opinions?

I've kicked around buying the heads and not the corners but, on the flip side, it's not a bad buy... this guy is cutting me a good deal for the set.

HELP!

Thanks folks.

I think they look great! Get some SilverStars in there and you will be able to see even better at night. Just adding the clear corners to mine really made a big difference in looks IMO.

Golfer,

You have any pictures of the corners? Anybody have any pics of lightning corners/heads installed on a screw?

i wouldn't worry about the sliding rear window, on my lightning i opened it up maybe the first week i owned it and never after that as it really makes for too much noise in the passenger compartment at least on the 93, don't know about the 02's

not that my opinion means jack, but I think because you have the chestnut which is a darker color they may stand out quite a bit where as if you had the estate green I think they would look killer.....either way I still think they would look good....I personally installed the clear corners because I didn't like amber......amber just looks doesn't look right unless you have a yellow truck. just my opinion...it is your truck and you should do what you like best....who cares what I think....after all I am just a KR freak!

I have the Sylvania Xenarc HID's and the Lightning corners on mine. I tried the L heads, but they put out less light intensity than our stock ones, so I turned around and sold them again and went for the HIDs. I love the look of both of them together. If only they made the HIDs with the yellow stripe like the 2002 HD edition headlights.

Thanks dufunnel

Those look excellent. I wish I could get my hands on a set of Xenarc cheap. My company actually does environmental work for OSRAM Sylvania at a site near Lexington. That plant makes the flouresent bulbs but, I'm wondering if our contact (the Environmental Health & Saftey guy for the plant) has access to the Xenarc's at a discount price. I think I'm going to hit him up for that. If he can do it, I'll probably buy a few sets and pass the savings along so that I can maybe pay off my set. Sounds good by theory but, then again, so does communism.

The Xenarc look is very similar to the L headlight look isn't it? They seem to look about the same. (Large, round projector style lens).

There's a set of the 02 Harley lights on ebay right now. They come with the corners... $475. OUCH.

Geesh..... what to do...

Yeah, if you say ouch to the Harley lights, don't even look at the Xenarc's. I paid $750 for the pair of mine, and that was the best price I have yet seen. Got them on sale from autobarn.com. They are very similar to the Lightning lights, except they are HIDs. The housings are made by Visteon, but you cannot use the blackouts on them, as they stick out a tad more than the regular lights. Not that I would want to, this is just an observation. They do have high beams in them. It looks pretty funny to have two bulbs in each housing. But wow they are bright. They are by far worth the money I paid for them. They are also supposed to last like 10 times as long. Those along with my silverstars in my fog lamps make my truck very driveable at night.

tothe thread starter, i thing L heads and corners would look bad *** on ANY truck ANY color, if you have a good buy, GRAB them! i guarantee you will make your money back and then some if you dont like them by selling them on here, trust me they will look sweet, also throw some Sylvania SilverStars in there, i have pics in my mods gallery with a comparison with stock, HUGE difference, check it out, good luck with your decision.
