As promised...the gallery is up

...just did a quickie job of scanning and uploading the page. The pics are large, so if you are accessing via dial-up, be patient. I will reduce the size of the pics and polish it up later. I just wanted you all to see the truck. Enjoy!

Sweet truck. I had one just like it pass me tonight while sitting at a redlight (of course it wasn't as slicked up as yours and didn't have the brush guard (which looks great btw)).

Estate is my second favorite color behind my chestnut. Sorry skagel. I love Tomas too.

Hey KingRanchAustin,

Nice looking ride there Dude!

Can we call you KRA for short?

I would've never thought a KR S'Cab could look that good but damn, that thing looks sweet. You must be a serious off-roader to have already installed a 'crash-kit', no wonder Skagel got so excited, she likes and needs extra metal up front to absorb energy after she rams something that gets in her way and won't move.

Nice job on taking the pics too, they are very clear and well focused.

Also, I've sent you a private email to discuss my living in Austin from 1965-1967 and the King Ranch Trip Thread.

Later,
DaveMan

I was curious as to what kind of brush guard you got on your KR....I am hoping you got a Manik because after my little test with the Westin, although it did do its job it was completely destroyed and has to be replaced.....I am going with the Manik this time. and I must say your truck is gorgeous......I hope to meet him/her at the ranch next month.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I knew the second I saw her, she was something speshul. Not quite like the first time I laid eyes on my wife, but close.

Anyway, yes Susan, that is a Manik brush guard. Still debating on the ones for the taillights, but I'll probably get 'em since there's no stopping me now.

As for the get together, I'll know by late this week if I can come down in May. We have a huge internal systems project at work being kicked off, and we may have a critical milestone coming up on the dates we've discussed. I'll let everyone know Wednesday or so.

Just noticed something on the pics... the plastic at the bottom of the seats is the same color brown as the leather. Looks nice. On my SCREW, the plastic is more of an arizona beige color. I WANT DARK BROWN!!!

That new for the 02s?

It seems like quite a bit was done for the '02 model year. They don't issue the Off Road designation (or FX4) to those built with all the components plus the King Ranch badging is on the rear. Probably other subtle differences that I haven't noted yet.

I think a couple of the 01's got the correct tailgate badge (very very few though - Mine didn't).

I'm guessing that you have the electronic temperature control? I wish I had that...

Ahh hell, I might just go trade mine in on a 2002. LOL YEAH RIGHT!

Actually no Rock, my s'cab wasn't late enough in the production run to get the temp control...You can tell that I'm soooo disappointed.

Hey Rock and KRA,

Temperature Control, we don't need no stinking temperature control. Hell, all there is to get cool is turn on the fan and lower the temperature, automatic temperature control is just a bunch of useless electronics waiting to fail. My wife's '01 Taurus had to have the whole electronic dash replaced after just 3000 miles. The radio, a/c and all controls on the dash center went out with no warning. It took the dealer two days to get the parts and she had to drive a rental for that time period.

To hell with automatic temperature control! A friend of mine has a beemer and his automatic temp control craped out too. He went to a junk yard and got a used unit and it still cost him several hundred bucks.

Remember the KISS Rule, Keep It Simple Stupid.

As for the dark brown seat frame, I like the lighter color better since it creates a pleasing contrast. Oh well, each to his own.

Later,
DaveMan
