Question Wax Removal - Hard Rubber Window Piece

I got some wax on the hard rubber piece that is located above the door handle right before the windows. (IT LOOKS AWFUL) Any idea how to get this off? I would rather not use armor all or something of that nature to simply 'cover' the problem. I want to REMOVE the wax. HELP!

Thanks guys...(and Skagel).

I read this, so don't judge too badly.

Take some peanut butter (smooth of course) put it on a plate or something, put it into the Microwave for about 15-20 seconds and then smear on the trouble spot. wait a minute then wipe off. You may also want to try and work it in with a old toothbrush.

I have never tried this, but it seems logical that it would work, using the oils from the peanut butter to work it out.

This only what I have read, so take it for what it is worth - Free Advice.

Anyone else had this problem? The peanut butter just seems like it'll 'mask' the problem and leave a oily residue. I'm willing to try anything.... just leary.

HELLLP!

well, the peanut butter may work, hear it before, but sounds a little out there for me. try dawn dish washing soap on a small towel and rub it off and any paint you hit remember to rewax the area.

Question

Thanks Skagel. Seems like I've stumped everyone on this doofus move that I made. It's so easy to screw up yet such a bi**h to correct. I'm a doof.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try the peanut butter first then, if that doesn't work, the dish washing soap. Jeeez, people are going to be looking at me weird with a jar of JIFFY sitting next to my truck. All my neighbors know I'm obcessed with my truck but, I believe they'll think I've flipped out after this one...

I'll post results upon completion.
