Question Replacement Lights

Has anyone tried to upgrade the lights on their truck? Would like to see better at night. Any suggestions? (Since the search is down, it is hard to find stuff.)

My '02 head light is the standard 9007, but the fog light is 9145. Anyone know if the 9145 is new or compatible with anything else becuase I can't find it on any of the sites I've checked?

What about the backup light? Mine was a 3156K. Does the K make it a special kind or will any 3156 work.

Thanks,

Adam

Hey acbell,

Have you checked out the online store? They've got some super white lights available for the head lamps and other areas too.

Here's the link to the part of the store with the bulbs.

guys, the superbrights really don't help much...especially for your back-up lights....tried it already and didn't really notice vey much of a difference....they look great when your looking at the truck, but don't really help your range of sight at night....i am gonna instal some low profile fog lights up under the bumper next to my hitch....was thinking of installing them under the bumper behind the rear tires, but thought about it a little bit and figured they wouldn't last a week there. also ordered some KC HIDs that i plan on attaching to my brush guard. the HIDs were $1365 so these badboys better work or i will be pissed.

Hey Skagel,

I'd like to see that mod when you get it done.

Hey, if you need some help with those lights, I'll do it for free, all I ask in return is to let me rake the leaves from the money trees you've got planted all around your mansion It'll probably take me all day to rake the leaves so figure on me staying for dinner too, I'll order some pizza since I know you hate to cook.

Update, how's Mr. Right? Still keeping him around or changed your mind aaaaagain?

The backup lights looks interesting Mike. Let us know how it works and how much it helps. Also let me know on the SuperChip too. Was just thinking about taking the plunge myself.

Daveman,
hey i am not the one with the financial advisor...mikef150 is....oh waite...i am a financial analyst...hmmmm maybe that is why...and i am not buying three KR's.....then i would have to store all 3 in the garage.....anyways my "Mr. Right" as you call him who makes me more angry then my brother can even make me....which is why he is probably mr. right...right? eeew...hope he doesn't read this thread...(don't want the guy to know he has the upper hand right?) anyways he is the one doing the light install....i can admit when i don't know crap about installing that stuff...that and i want to add seperate switches and modify them so i can either manually turn the HIDs and have them come on with my high beams and also to be able to turn them on when the truck is off, but for them to only stay on for 15 minutes then turn off...that way i can't leave them on and kill my battery....also want my lit logos to have a sorta similar set up along with my back up lights....and do ya think i know anything about how to do that? nope, i don't gotta have "mr. right" do it for me....so i have some serious sucking up to do in order to get this done.....hopefully i will have it all completed by april...

acbell,

I pulled this document off of a pdf file I've got of the 2001 F-150 owners manual.

I had to do some fancy work to get the page to show up as a jpeg file so I could attach it so the quality is less than perfect but should be ledgable.

The superwhites don't help much. Not to mention the life on them sucks. I put mine in and they were blown after two weeks. I have since bought the Sylvania Xenarc HID lights for mine, but they have not yet arrived. They were $799. I have heard that they make a world of difference. In addition, I put the Lightning corners on, and they look quite good. As for the fog lights, I actually found some decent superwhites that haven't blown on me, so for now I have those in there. I wouldn't say they are brighter at all, just makes the light a whiter tint.
