Question What makes our KR's so Addictive?

When we saw our first KR, we loved how it looked and felt and knew we had to have one. So we placed our order and now, eleven weeks later, we finally took "partial" delivery Sat night. Since it came in early, the KR bedliner, tonneau cover and mudflaps weren't in, and we didn't want to leave the truck there and wait. We will have to take it back in later this week to have them installed. Then I'll try to post some pictures (if I can figure out how to).

Anyway, we knew we were going to love it, but it really has become an obsessive, passionate love after driving it around this weekend. We just didn't want to get out. We put on 160 miles between Sat night and Sunday just tooling around in our new baby. At one point the kids were watching Disney's Tarzan on the RSES, so when my wife got out to go shopping, I sat in the back to watch too (very comforatable back seat and decent sound too). My father-in-law, who's a pretty big guy pushing over 300lbs, road around in the back and said he was very surprised by it's comfort and leg room.

From reading a number of posts here, it seems that all the KR owners, to varying degrees, are taken with their KR truck. I think Ford has laced these new leather seats with some sort of addictive agent... anyone else know why this is happening to all of us?

We may have discovered a new epidemic, "Kingranchopia." If you don't want to be infected, you better not sit in one.

Undisclosed sources have said that a very high percentage of King Ranch owners have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

Hey acbell,

You might have a point here, I passed up a KR twice by the looks but after driving one I had to trade in my '00 4x4 Lariat Scab on a 4x4 KR Screw. I guess since mine had been sittin' for 6 month that the mystery drug must have deminished to the point that I had to come into direct contact to be effective.

Now I'm so used to the affect that I can't even feel it any more, I guess I just need a larger dose to keep up the old feeling

Later,
DaveMan

LMAO. Its so true I had to laugh. Luckily, I made it through the "bad" zero percent days w/o buying a new vehicle. It went from KR to SuperDuty to Chevy HD with the Duramax. I was out of control. In retrospect, it seems like I was going through withdrawal much like a heroin addict. I'm much better now though! I even managed to put 50,000+ miles on a vehicle finally. Now the challenge is to get to 100,000....

Talking OCD ---> HAHAHA!

that's too funny. I believe they put some type of narcotic in the headliner that makes us WANT to be with our trucks. Hell, my wife is getting jealous of my truck. I'm always rubbing and loving my truck...

Seems like she doesn't get the rubbing or loving she's wanting. *shrugs* What can a guy do?
