Got Caught!!!

this morning i stopped off for coffee as i always do at the same Tim Hortons....i think it is a michigan/canadian place......i was driving....not my rice burner, but my best friends '01 f150 scab flareside 4x4 that i just had lifted back up to its normal height...(long story) anyways i pull in and what do i see...it was a '02 charcol blue KR screw 4x2...my son starts yelling..."thomas, thomas, mommy somebody stole thomas"...it was very cute...anyways i get out and start walking around the guys truck and checking it out....peaked in the windows to see what kind of seating arangement he chose etc, etc...while peering into the drivers side window i didn't hear him behind me and he walks up to his truck and puts his hands on his mirror...my son yells at him "no touching paint"....anyways he says to me "can i help you miss?"....my heart starts racing and i got super nervous and felt guilty....i was caught...i told him i had a 4x4 version of his truck in the same color....he showed me the back seat (not like that geesh) he had the bench seat and i had never seen them up close....they are a lot nicer then i thought they would be....don't really like it in the 4x2 though...i like sitting up high personally...guess it comes from being tall and i am used to seeing above most people....

The 4x2's are tall enough as it is. I sit up as high in mine as a lot of the 4x4's from other manufacturers. I shudder to think of what I would have done had I gotten a 4x4, as I barely clear my garage as it is. I have some side by side pictures of my 4x2 and a 4x4, so when I have a chance, I'll post them.

Sounds like he expected something other than what your response was. I get comments and onlookers like that all the time. I have complete strangers asking me what my truck is, and for some reason they think I have a lot of money since I'm driving such a nice truck, but because I have such a nice truck, I have no money.

Looks like I got everyone beat. I am the youngest, which makes me feel better, because around my friends I am the oldest. I just turned 24 and I've had my truck for 7 months.

You all don't have it so bad

I just turned 50 yesterday! The plus side, my youngest is a freshman in college and my 2 older children are both in and out of college already.

Hey LINYScrew,

I don't feel so bad now, I can tell you I'm just 5 months younger than MikeF150.

Talking about kids in college, my son is going to be three soon and when he's in college he'll be able to tell his friends that his old man is coming to his graduation and it will really mean old man 'cause I'll be almost sixty or possibly older if he goes late. Now who feels old?

Well I just turned 28 a couple weeks ago and it is funny how people expect you must have or be making a lot of money. We were also looking at the the Explorers which cost just as much, and the Expeditions can put you into the low 40Ks. When I showed the guys at work the truck, a couple of them thought they should ask for a raise. The funny thing is, they all make more than me. I think the Leather and special exterior color must be what puts it over the top in must people's minds.

I don't drive a King Ranch but I do drive a SCREW. I was 19 when i bought my truck in August and turned 20 in October. So far I am the youngest on the SCREW boards I've seen.

Earth to Children

Back to reality children, when you are cruising down the street, no is looking at you or cares how old you are, they are looking at your KING RANCH SUPERCREW!!

PS. Dang, that KR Supercrew is one pretty truck.
