I gots me one of those. For prospective buyers, buy the Chestnut or the Charcoal Purple or whatever color that's supposed to be. The Green is ugly, the paint comes off when it rains hard and people will make fun of you for driving a truck that looks like a bowl of pea soup. (Also so there will be fewer on the road just like mine.)
Dave
PS what is "estate" green anyway? Have to go thru probate court and have a judge decide how to mix paint?

charcoal blue is the "supreme" ruler since it currently is only available on king ranch trucks. the other colours can be "had" on lesser ford vehicles...!!!

Geez guys,

This is starting to sound like color wars, the estate green strikes back! Instead of Star Wars, the Empire Strikes Back!

Advise from Obeywon Kenobie:
Be wise my son, don't pick estate green it's a weak color, nor should you go on the blue my child, it's too easy to see in battle. You must use the Force, use the force, use the force, think think Chestnut my son, it's the best color to go into battle against the evil forces out there.

No really, all the colors are great, after you buy one you've got to stick with your pals on this one. Kinda like college football teams, if you go to the college, you gotta stick with the team, no matter how good or bad they are, right!

I won't post a pic here since it'd spoil this thread, HAHA.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Talking

Up here in Canada the Estate Green is ONLY available on the KR F150, no other model of truck or car is currently available. That makes our's stand out!

Hey Kr Cowboy,

Congratulations on your new truck and welcome to the boards. You'll have fun with us so hang on to your hat dude.

Nice call name. Now, let us see that puppy and maybe you'll gain a couple more KR buddies.

Estate Green means.....

In reply to BroncoDave, the word is from the English meaning of a County Estate....ie the large grounds around many English Country houses. (Obviously very 'Green')
That is also the derivation of what we call "Estate Cars" which you call Station Wagons....though that is less used these days.

Hey Skagel,

To get to your question on who buys what colors. What, do you think picking colors is like astrology or something? Are we stuck into a stereotype because of the colors we pick?

Okay I'll play along. I think the Chestnut gang is the Einsteinian type and the Charcoal Blue types are sex maniacs:o, uhh, or is it the other way around?

I think it depends on what time it is and how many adult alcoholic beverages are involved as to which way the arrow points

Either way, the Estate Green gang are straight cookies and of the very serious type, I think. Ah hell, I dunno!

Later,

All the colors are on other vehicles, and are not exclusive to the KR. You will find that most matches are on the Expeditions. The Eddie Bauer Expeditions come in the same blue that is called Charcoal blue on our trucks. I have also seen them in the Estate Green. The chestnut I know I have seen on the Lariats, but I'm sure there are other vehicles out there that have these colors as well. Just thought I would wake everyone up that these are not one time colors. I can't believe anyone thought they were or would be. You should know Ford by now. All they do is change the name of the color.

Hey dufunnel,

You are right, but I don't think any of us ever said or thought that the colors are just on the KRs except for maybe someone might have said the Charcoal blue is only used on the KRs in 2002. Besides, these three threads on KR colors are just to find out which one is the most popular and to carry on some healthy discussion and chit chat about colors.

Well, why didn't you post your vote under the charcoal thread or did you already and I just missed it?

Later,

dfunnel,

i have to disagree with your post. the wedgewood or medium wedgewood blue on the expedition is not the same as the charcoal blue. i've personally seen em and they ain't charcoal blue. the true blue and island blue on other ford trucks isn't the same either. i must say i have yet to see the charcoal blue on any other ford vehicle cept the king ranch. i just browsed the '02 truck colours and the kr is the only one that has charcoal blue as an offering. yes, i know they could simply give it another name on a different vehicle, but of the ones they are advertising, none of those are the same as the charcoal...

Estate Green is King here in Ontario.
Picked mine up 5 weeks ago and have seen 3 other Estate Greens since then. I have 7200 km (4500 miles ) on this King Ranch and love the way it rides and handles. I sell my trucks every six months and buy a new truck.I will be looking for another King Ranch in Estate Green come may 2002.
Previously I have driven dodge for the last 7 years.
Happy New Year.
Ray
