hey gang,
tonight i got out the KR conditioner and went to town. seems like a pretty good product. it was very interesting to see some of the "natural" markings within the leather stand out more vividly after the conditioner was applied. on my back bench, one area really showed up. i was almost pissed because the markings shown so brilliantly that it looked like someone had smeared mud on the seat cushion. anyway, now that its dry, most of the markings have disappeared again. very interesting to say the least. this is the first non treated leather seat i've ever seen let alone owned...but i certainly like the looks compared to the treated leather. later...

I applied the conditioner almost as soon as I got it. I really seems to bring out the highlights in the leather, I had the same reaction at first. Saddle leather is supposed to have some character. The leather in mine was a dry as a bone and it took lots of the stuff to soften it up. My truck sat on the lot in Salt Lake City from May till October.
well to help fund my trip home this weekend....I can stop by the King Rach saddle shop and get yall some saddle soap.....its more expensive than Lexol....(which is what ive always used) but it will go with the truck....does anyone think that this is a good idea.....prolly not since you can order it thru their catalog.

skagel,
last night when i applied my conditioner, it was prolly in the 40s inside the truck. it doesn't say anthing about proper temps on the bottle, so i'm not sure if it really matters. altho, i imagine it probably wouldn't be a good idea on a real cold day where the conditioner would freeze before it had a chance to soak in.

ok i went to my parents house and went through my dads books on automobile care and found a book called "about leather" in it it tells you how to care for leather....it says...that the conditioner should be applied at a warm or room temperature......and it says it should be left to absorb for 24 hours before removing excess conditioner...and to pay close attention to stitches because that is where the oil is released and absorbed. the car should be parked in the sun with the windows rolled up. hmmmmm i am thinking i will have to waite until summer to do this in my baby. it said a lot more, but don't feel like quoting the whole book....if you want more info. email me and i will forward the info.
