I have a 2005 King Ranch that has the dreaded ashtray rattle disease. I seen one article online that showed removing the ashtray and using plastic dip on the nubs underneath it. Do you have to remove the entire trim piece to fix this problem? I've tried the adhesive foam on the edges and it didn't help.

just pull off the wood trim radio bezel and its two bolts IIRC to get the ash tray out. I have a spare ashtray for parts if you want it. It doesnt stay closed (missing retainer pin) but you can try the parts on it to see if it stops the rattle. You pay shipping. let me know.

The whole ashtray can come part as I had to take mine apart due to the missing pin. I bought a new one and it was the wrong color, so I took the two ashtrays apart and just switched out faceplates. Also to remove the surrounding bezel, just open ashtray and pull n bezel
