Just because your local saddle shop recommended it doesn't mean it will be right for an automotive application.

When the Castano leather was first contemplated by Ford they did a lot of research and experimentation in conjunction with the King Ranch to come up with a suitable treatment for the new interior.
That of course resulted in their own very satisfactory product.

Check out the sticky above but I can assure you that after nearly 10 years of experimentation and use by our forum members that the methods and products outlined in the thread will be tried and tested.
However I do believe that if you look far enough back in the sticky thread I seem to remember someone trying it out before...though I don't remember with what effect.

I would discourage it... although, that said, I'm not sure I've seen anyone use it.

But....

With several years of research by our members, I think that there are tried and true options that are much better choices. As Lenticular has mentioned, definitely check out the leather sticky.

I will order a bottle the proper stuff.
It was 32F when I applied it,it turned the leather dark.
I'm just going to wait for it to dry.
Going to Florida over Christmas I will try to apply the KR conditioner down there.

We use Neatsfoot Oil on our saddles for the sole purpose of darkening the leather. The more coats you put on, the darker it gets over time. So don't use it unless you don't like the color of your interior.
