01 mirror cover
01 mirror cover
Hello folks. Wow, it's been a while since I've posted here. I'll have to go through old emails and look at everyone's names so I can ask about them, heh. I do, however, remember Rockpick. You still around, RP? Anyway, the wind got up pretty good last night and apparently broke the fingers that hold my driver's side mirror cover on. I called the Ford place a few minutes ago and was told it would be $86 to replace the cover. Now, not only is that completely ridiculous for small piece of plastic, but it also comes primed but not painted. Given the outright stupidity it would take to spend that kind of money for a 35 cent piece of plastic, does anyone know where I might find a replacement for a more reasonable price? I've tried every junkyard and salvage place I could find within 100 miles. If I remember correctly, the rules for the forum might be a little restrictive in recommending this sort of thing so if it's a problem, that's ok. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nope. I'm not here. What you're reading is all a figment of your imagination...
Unfortunately, I think you're hosed. Being that it's an 01, the three colors that were available were all exclusive to the KR (although, Chestnut may have been called something else in 2000 - I can't recall which color you have). Also though, you may try to find an Eddie Bauer Expedition (2001) as the Estate Green (called something different for the EB) was one of colors (and maybe even charcoal blue)...
Best of luck... I know it's harsh but, you may have to bite the bullet.
You might try fastpartsnetwork.com or another one of the 'bargain priced' Ford parts vendors -- there are several on the web (I've had great luck in the past with FPN).
Good luck!
