Melted your blinker assembly in your steering wheel? I suppose that is similar to melting a thermothruster in a neutron jack, eh?

I've had them on my 2005 for probably about 2 years now... While I did have some moisture problems, I'm quite pleased with how they function, aim the light, and look. The problem with HIDs (as most will fail to point out) is that our stock headlight assemblies are NOT made to have them in there. If you look carefully at higher-end models that come with HID stock, you'll note that it's a VERY different type of reflector system in use within the headlight assembly. This difference is what aids in throwing the light to the road rather than it blaring all around and blinding an oncoming driver. While I know this is HIGHLY debated amongst the masses here, I'm VERY firm in my opinion in this as I've gone through THREE sets of HID ballasts/bulbs in my 2005 headlights and have reverted away from each of them because of the safety factor that I just mentioned.

The unfortunate fact is that, with the newer model (04-08), there isn't an aftermarket assembly manufacturer that has put a full assembly out that solves the glare problem. With the late model (the 01 through 03), Sylvania made a system called Xenarc that was a full assembly replacement and was absolutely TOP of the line. I had a set on my 2001 KR and they were spectacular.

So, in a nutshell, the HID thing, in my opinion, is a poor idea and compromises the safety of others (and ultimately yourself)...

From a 'halo' standpoint, here ya go...

Which assemblies specify HID or halogen? Honestly, I'm not trying to be a smartarse here -- I just wasn't aware that there was such a thing. The only *true* set of HID for the 97+ was the Xenarc system.

These are the Xenarcs with the Lightning Corner lamps on my 2001 KR:

Lightning headlights up front with Xenarcs in the rear... as you can see, they look VERY similar but, they are VERY different in the way that they throw the light:

They've been discontinued for many years now and are nearly impossible to find new. You will, on a rare occasion, see a set float across ebay. New, they were in the realm of $500 for a set but, I've seen used sets go for nearly $1k (wish I wouldn't have sold my old set to Joe... LOL!)

Those last set of projectors do not look like real CCFLs but rather normal crappy LEDs one some bent plastic, they usually throw off not equal light ll of the way around. IMO, halos look crappy unless true CCFL lighting, which is quite a bit more expensive. If I were to spend money it would be for projectors and HIDs, 4300K.
