King Ranch warranty question

Need some input advise, my 2005 King Ranch - 17,000 miles goes out of warranty next month. Today I got her back, hurray, but she had to have her tranmission removed and worked on to replace the oil pump seal and gasket which was leakiing, and the A/C was repaired too. So sad this happened but happy it happened under warranty..but my question is after April 2008, since it is out of the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty will any of this repair work be covered? Thanks fellow F-150's Rick

Since it is out of the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty, I would have to say no. If you have concerns that you will have more problems...you could buy an extended warranty from Ford.

I believe Shine is correct...

Let's say that your transmission goes out at 20k. Despite having the remaining 16k on your warranty ticker, your transmission will only be warrantied until the 36k mark... not 56k.

To that point, the extended warranty path may be applicable to you and something that you may want to consider.

Secondly, I would talk to your the service manager at your local stealership to make sure we're all correct. Good luck -- and get out and drive that thing! 17k? WOW!

3yr/36,000 mile warranty...Is not which you feel is best suited for your needs. It is which ever comes first. You have plenty of miles left, but age and time have caught up with ya. Sorry.

Sorry you've had a bad experience with your F-150.

I think that if your truck is still within the 3 year warranty, you can purchase an extended factory warranty. There are different levels of coverage, and different costs. Dealers will negotiate costs of these warranties, so check into the coverage you want, get a quote, and call a few more dealers.

In Oregon right now, things are slow. Smaller dealers may offer the best deal on these.

DO NOT buy a non-Ford warranty! These aren't even useful as toilet paper.

My brother-in-law runs a garage...and loves the Ford warranties. They don't haggle, and they pay up.

An 05 with 13.5k? Whats the deal, are you Amish and hide your truck from the others?

LOL, now that's funny, because I grew up in Ohio and worked in a car wash in high school. And we had a few Amish customers (always very high end vehicles too??). And no, no horses were involved!! We all had to clean up after closing and there's no way we would have welcomed that mess into the system!!

I travel for a living (usually, but not so much lately) and when I'm local, I generally work out of my home office. Sometimes throughout an entire week I make three three-mile round-trips to the gym and that's it. If I'm lazy, ill, or injured, sometimes that entire week sees nothing at all in terms of mileage!

The really cool thing is that I change the oil based on time as well as miles and I condition my leather as often as it needs it. I likewise take care of the exterior. So someday, perhaps a few decades down the line, it's hard to say what my baby might be worth on the collectors' market. Not that she'd be for sale, mind you...

By the way there Mr. LDO, I was once an ET in a previous life...

(awaiting some good-natured (hopefully) mistreatment on the whole extraterrestrial business)...

On your warranty part. The work done recently I believe is warrantied for 90 days after service at least the parts are. I had this happen to my 2001 it 's had three power steering pumps. The factory one, one 6 months in, and then they had to do it again two months later. Was on extended warranty and made them cover it since they had just replaced it 2 months previous.

If you are looking for an extended warranty, I went with National Auto Care and have used them twice already.

My 05 is at 48K. Nov 07 I was rolling my passenger window down and it went down and didn't come back up. Took it in and it was the regulator. I paid my $100 deductible and got it back the next day. Total bill was $385.

Mar 03, 2008 took my KR in for grinding noises in the rear axle and it also started missing in the engine. The grinding was a clutch plate in the rear end and the missing was a bad coil. I paid my $100 deductible and got it back the next day. Total bill was $850.

So as far as my warranty company went, the service manager loves them. He said they are very easy to work with.
