Is it rude to peek?

I was walking through the parking lot and came across a big ole' F-350 KR. It looked kinda rough on the outside, and I was dying to peek in the window to see how the seats were looking. Then I noticed the gun rack in the rear window and decided against it.

Would you be offended if you caught someone peeking in on your leather? I think I might actually be flattered, however, I would want to see the peeker drive up in his/her own KR. Some random wandering idiot in the parking lot might get hurt, though.

Probably year ago it would be a compliment. Maybe at a car show as well.

Now a days, it looks like someone shopping for a new radio, cell phone, truck or even a new gun in that gun rack.
The only thing you may get is a new Sig Sauer hearing aid.

Get a decal that reads "After reading this, turn around and say Hi!"

LOL, I do try to see what I can see as I walk by. I work on several military bases from time to time and a lot of the boys coming home from the war appear to be spending some of that pent up cash on KRs (and why the hell not?). I'm also given to looking when I see someone opening a door of a KR. But I don't walk up and stare inside...

Hehe, four-year follow-up here!

Recently found myself working at a location where I hadn't been to in quite a while and, while walking back to my own, thought that I recognized an '05 KR (same year as mine) from way back when. First thing I noticed was the lack of a reflective windshield (screen if you prefer!) liner in use. Big no-no at ~6k ft altitude (very thin atmosphere and thus very intense solar radiation). Also, the forward windows were lacking any tint beyond factory. Couldn't help myself but to make a little zigzag to have a passing glance inside. Sure enough, the leather was absolutely atrocious! A big TSK-TSK to whomever is responsible!!! Maybe tomorrow I'll seek them out and park mine the next spot over - you know, just to teach them a lesson as to how good it can still look with a few hours of care per year (mine still rocks).

Patina shamina!

just a quick peek and then you say something to me about my truck when im walking back to it? Cool. Staring in the window and I see you doing it and have enough time to confront you about it? I probably wont be real friendly until i figure out you werent trying to steal 6k worth of stereo ****. Depends on context, and your demeanor and body language.

LOL, i have been guilty of walking by kr's and taking a peek in the winders... Caught some people peeking into mine also, no biggie as long as you keep your hands off the truck and dont peek for more than 10 seconds

No need for the Billy Bass *** routine; I stated quite clearly that I had a passing glance and nothing more (and this was on a highly restricted military base - nobody's stealing anybody's stereo equipment or anything else for that matter). And it would never cross my mind to say anything directly to someone about how they treat their own personal property - it's their business entirely. Like I said, though, I wouldn't be above engineering the opportunity for them to have their own little peeking episode (by parking immediately adjacent if possible) and have them realize that maybe they could be doing something more. Not that I care, really - it only increases the resale value of my own truck to have so many others out there screwing their own up!
