I'm glad you found and posted that link.

Quick back story.

Bought an '05 KR in May. After the initial excitement, I became concerned about my passenger seat. It was kinda "fuzzy", as in you could draw stripes in it with your fingers.

Thought I should learn how to take care of the leather. Found this forum. Bought some Leather CPR. Seats are no longer "fuzzy". The seats did soak up the entire contents of the Leather CPR container...

Drove down to the local dealership to look at some brand new KR seats and see what I should be aiming for. Turns out my seats look much more like the link the OP provided than the KR seats at the dealership.

Am I wasting my time working on my seats, or is there any hope?

I think it would be a lot of work to bring the seats shown in the link above to anything like the standard should be....in fact I would guess impossible.
They look as though they have gone too far.
If as you say you can make marks in your 'fuzzy' surface that doesn't sound good either.
If the other seats are OK it is indicative that the seat in question was covered with hide that had not been tanned correctly.
You could try the dealer but it's probably too late for any claim...you might have to stump up for a new seat 'cover'.

Might want to go to a couple upholstry shops and see what they can do. I saw a used 05 KR at one of the local dealerships that looks almsot as bad as the seats in the first post. I came back a week later and the seats looked almost new. Salesman told me they have a guy that knows how to work "magic" on KR leather. He thought I remember him saying something about sanding and dying.

Mine aren't quite as bad as those in question... but definitely leaning in that direction.

If you can't work those back into shape to your satisfaction, you might consider haiving them dyed. You local dealership might know somebody in your area who can do that. I know there are some folks in the DFW area that do it, but I have no idea about Amarillo...
