I just unplugged the sub, sold the 6 disk mp3 player that came with it $215, and the sub for $165 all on eBay and upgraded the head unit and put in dual kicker 10", then I finished the box in the same wood grain color as the interior looked great, but i wanted more Bass, then i traded the 10's for one 15" Kicker Solobaric, What a kick!!!

I am upgrading the Head Unit first with either a Eclipse AVN5500 or 6600. Then I want to replace the 4 door speakers and maybe replace the sub if there is a better one out there. What did you install?

The only thing I have done is swap the factory subwoofer with an aftermarket sub. I had hi-fi buys install a JL “stealth box” with a JL 12” sub. We used the best amp/ speaker wires for the install and I can honestly say that the damn thing slams.

In my opinion I feel that you get what you pay for when it comes to audio equipment. And after all- it’s a King Ranch… she deserves a little pampering

You know... it could be a 10". I would hate to think i'm talking out of my ****.

It fits perfectly underneath the rear seat and sounds better than two 10" subs I had in an old jeep.

My invoice shows that it is indeed a 12". How much were you quoted and from where- if you don't mind me asking.

Got a quote from Area-41 Kennesaw, $700 installed for the SB-F-SPRCRW/10W3v2/TN, that doesn't include the amp or wiring that will be needed. If they make a 12" version I would like to know where I could find one.

http://www.a-41.com .. they have done some pretty wild installations and I have yet to hear of anyone unhappy with them, though they can be a little on the pricey side sometimes...

I dropped the factory sub and put in a power 12" Thunderform. It's very easy to tie into the factory wiring. I replaced all the door speakers with DB Sound and kept the factory amps. I have to say that it sounds damn good, not overbearing bass and smooth crisp mids and highs. Also added a peripheral kit to run and control my ipod through the factory deck, this is tricky and requires a on/off toggle and some relays, recommend having that part done by a GOOD installer if you're not too savvy on installation.
