just got a kr

hey ya'll i just got a 01 king ranch and the seats are pretty dry and don't look like they've been taken care of. i've been all over the place and even to some ford dealerships who, might i add, didn't seem to realize the leather was different then regular leather, but i can't seem to get a firm answer on what to clean/condition them with. i just purchased a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of conditioner from lexol, and before i used it, i wanted to see if any of you know anything about this brand. each bottle was about $11 so i figured it had to be decent. let me know what you think.

Can you post some pics of the leather? I use the King Ranch leather conditioner, but other folks have thier own preferences. You describe you leather as being neglected, so it may take some intensive work. Post the pics and lets see what is going on.

First... DO NOT use the Lexol Cleaner!!! We've seen several folks ruin leather items with that particular product... me included. The conditioner is fine stuff but, don't use the juice in the orange bottle.

Secondly, please take note of the 'leather care' thread that is a sticky at the top of the King Ranch forum. OOODLES of great posts in there. Lots of us have owned KR's since the 2001 year (which was the first, by the way) and we've accumulated a plethora of 'awesome' information (hardee har har, Lenticular! HA!).

Welcome to KR ownership... you've come to the right place!

Congrats on the truck, you'll love the KR. As others have said, there is a very good thread at the top of the KR forum that links to a variety of discussions. For me, I've tried a variety of products, the one I like the least is the KR conditioner as I've had it leave residue many times, and my favorite is Leather CPR....it's easy to apply and makes the leather feel great.

Racin,

I've found Leather CPR at either Restoration Hardware or Bed Bath and Beyond, it's more expensive at Restoration Hardware. It's a cream and goes on real easy by wiping on, best to do when it's warmer outside so it soaks in better...
