Talking Great Day!

Well I finally bought the 2007 KR today! And, what is even better I decided to keep the 2004 Lightning as a weekend toy. Plus, the wife approved of it with only a few grimaces.
After 33 years of marriage I guess she figures a few vices like this aren't too bad to deal with.
The KR is white with 20" tires, pueblo gold line-x, entertainment system, 3.73 limited-slip, towing package and 6 disc cd with mp3.

Now I need to get the windows tinted for the trips to Havasu and decide what kind of bed cover to put on. Other that that she's ready to roll.

Can't be many better days than this...

Sounds like a sweet truck. If your half as happy with yours as I am of my 2007 you made a good choice.
Where's the pics?

I LOVE the 2007s. Those painted door handles and mirror caps make a HUGE difference.

The dealership had the line-x done today and the bed extender plus DVD player get done tomorrow then I'll pick it up and get some pics.

Anyone have thoughts on bug shields for the KR? Is it a little tacky? I had one on my 97 F150 and it did a great job. I don't have one on my Lightning (obviously) and have a bunch of sand/stone chips from going across the desert.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This is the first time in my life where I haven't gone out and IMMEDIATELY put on a bug shield on the new truck. Let me tell you, it sucks without one. I can't believe how often I have to clean the windshield now.. On the other hand, I just can't imagine a bugshiled looking good on the KR either. Most of it has to do with the chrome surround on the grill. I don't think a chrome bugshield would do it for me either.

I've got on on my 2005 and love it. It's factory from Ford so it's not chrome/solid black and, IMO, is a perfect match.

You can hardly see it in this picture, but it's there.

I just picked it up tonight after the 10" rear DVD was installed. So now I've got the line-x, bed extender and DVD player. The "to comes" are the tonneau and maybe the bug shield.
I hate the chips in the Lightning but I'm just not sure about the looks of the bug shield. I'm not taking the truck across the desert for another week so I have a few days to make up my mind.
The wife and I took the truck out for a little ride on the LA freeways and it is just great. What a nice ride and especially compared to the Lightning. Of course, it'll take some getting used to when I hit the gas and not being pressed against the seat. I suppose one can't have everything. Maybe a CAI and new exhaust will help...

With the grill coming up with the hood it is quite a bit different than my other trucks.

they drill a holes on to the hood above the grill and they put screws in the holes with washers so it will stay in place.. and the bud shield is placed above the grill and it looks pretty good.

heres a pic of my '06 Mark Lt with the bug shield hope it helps
