Good luck on the install. I just installed the Alpine PKG-M780s in my KR, and let me tell you putting a razor to the headrest was hard to do. I relocated the RCA jacks to above the factory DVD, to have an audio/video input to the factory NAV.

sorry for the delayed pics guys...here is the current situation

I got my headrest monitors installed last friday, however:

they forgot to reconnect my gps antenna cable,
one of the cables to the screen was bad (aka they messed it up),
the screens were loose (not very tight in the bracket),
and the bracket sits on the outside of the headrest as opposed to being flush

having said that, they are going to order a wire from an authorized eclipse dealer and fix the flush problem etc.

so sit tight, pics ARE coming I promise!!

That would royally tick me off .. is an authorized Eclipse dealer doing the install work?

Bummer man... keep us posted! Best of luck....

One quick and dumb question... if you're just displaying the NAV screen on your HU, will that show up on your headrest monitors? I know that the DVD will but, will the NAV?

I'm not familiar with the Eclipse line, but my AVIC-N3 will show the nav on the rear DVD/headrests or show a movie on just the rear and the nav up front. Whichever way you want it!

I've got a picture of the nav on the front & rear in my gallery.

Thanks I12... nice truck!

I'd really love to put rear monitors in but, I'm not sure that it's really in the cards for me.

Just for my knowledge though, who was it that was making a headrest monitor solution specifically for the KR? -- that meaning that you simply ordered the HR's with the monitors already installed in a KR headrest? Someone posted them here -- I think?

I honestly have no idea where to get monitors installed that you just "swap out" headrests for, but would love to find out!

Installing aftermarket TVs isn't a big deal/hard, but the size/shape of the F150 headrests looks like it would be a little tricky. I installed the ones in my 99 F150 (I still miss that truck) and a few friends cars. (Volvo 850T5-R & BMW M3)

I find it hard to imagine something such as a 7" widescreen fitting in the factory headrests, but I think I'll get out a measuring tape in the morning, just out of curiosity..

7" headrest monitors WILL fit depending on the size of the shroud....My nav cable was left disconnected, so I'm not sure what will show up as of now, but I will keep everybody informed.....and the company with the headrest solutions is ENVISION I believe

7 inchers will fit. As mentioned though, your shroud has to fall within a reasonable dimension. Here's a shot of mine...I recently overhauled my whole audio/video setup. As soon as I get the harness to allow my new factory nav to communicate with my RSE, I'll be good to go. Already relocated the RSE RCA jacks, and plugged everything up, just cant get my factory dvd to stay on long enough to enjoy due to a CAN BUS issue. Note the pronunciation of the bottom of the shroud through the leather. This cant be seen as much under natural light, but the flash from the camera shows it more than would normally be seen.
Installed visor monitor too...it was a pain, but I like it as well...

wow that looks great D40....how much did you pay for installation of the headrests? visors? where did you get your visor monitors from? how much? sorry for all the questions, but I really like your set up...I can't wait to get my job finished on my truck....The guys at the shop screwed up one of the wires, and its a pain in the *** to get from eclipse....but once everything is done, I will have some pics for you guys!

Thanks Noles..

The only thing the installation cost me was a couple of dirty looks from my wife, as I did it myself and worked for about 16 hours straight intalling it all in one day. Seems long but I put in two alpine monitors, visor monitor, a JL amp, JL components w/crossovers, JL cleansweep (2), alpine Ipod video, alpine 6 DVD/CD changer, factory NAV, w/ aux input and sirius tuner, an inverter and a PS2 plus running and hidding all the wires.

I ordered my visor monitor and most of my installation supplies online from a place called "autotoys".

I did it myself, because sometimes people still half do stuff when its not theirs, even if they are getting paid. I installed at least 4 grand worth of equipment and if something goes wrong not only do i know with whom to place blame, but i know how to fix it. My background is in electronics, so the electronics was nothing, but cutting the visor and headrest was an excercise in patience. I found an old headrest and practiced first with a an MRE box and a dvd cover. Once I saw how it was supposed to work I knew I could do it.

I really need to get my factory DVD fixed though. The sound is pumping through the rest of the system by way of the inputs on the cleansweep. The downside to that is the sound doesnt mute when the navigation lady is talking, in addition i have no picture on my factory screen. Plan B is to go aftermarket, but I refuse to do the FM modulation thing. Here are a couple of shots
