Brand Spankin' New

Owner that is. Hi, I'm Les and I hail from, well home is in Washington but work is in North Cali. Just bought my KR from a dealership in Texas and other than some pretty severe scratches and gouges (which they are going to pay to repair), she is just beautiful. I've had it for just a week or so and already my wife and I have been in a few arguments because I'm being so **** and protective.

Got lucky, the previous owner put on a bunch of factory accessories to include a DVD system while still having a moonroof, bull bar with PIAA foglights, some suspension leveling mod, and others and I still paid below bluebook. Apparantly he owns a truck for just a few months and then trades them in. A new truck every six months. Kinda dumb if you ask me.

Well gotta go tell my Expy that I still love her and she'll always have a specail place in my heart.

Sorry about that. I have in my possesion a 2006 Dark Copper KR and a 1998 maroon EB Expedition. The boss and I have had the Expy for several years and she told me the as a reenlistment gift I could get the truck.

Now a show of hands might give you an idea of how much trouble it was to find this particular truck. It seems that the short box is all the rage and finding a long box proved a long shot. But after a few months and several dealerships we finally found one online.

It was great fun to take it into my local dealership and let the sales manager tell me what a beautiful truck it was. He asked me why I didn't purchase it there at his place. See, he knew me because I'd been in there a few times to look at what Ford had to offer. I like the way the new Edge looks and I think the the Freestyle and the Five Hundred, while cheaply made, offers a few things others don't, and they had a GT in there at one point, blah blah blah. Anyway long story short they got tired of seeing me when all I did was look.

But when I drove in with that oh so pretty truck and told him I had been in there and I did talk to a salesman and asked him to locate said truck with the specific options I wanted and the price range I'd like to keep it at, well they didn't take me seriously. And they lost tens of thousands of dollars cash money. Mostly the banks, but hey it was still cash.

I have plans for it but not over the top, not yet. A new intake and exhaust (from headers on back) I wanna put in electric fans and a few light weight compnents. But most of my love will go to the Expy for now. We're also buying a horse trailer, in fact it's sitting in front of my truck now, and as soon as the father in law names his price we'll be driving it home. The goal is to fix up the Expy and eventually paint it and the trailer this Dark Copper with beige. Man it is a pertty' color.

I beleive Ford has made a few KR Expy's but mine's a '98 and I wanna update her a bit. Only time and a hell of a lot of money will tell.
