I'm also looking at different head units for my King Ranch. It comes down to personal preference and what you want out of your head unit. Do you just want to watch DVD's? Do you need navigation? Do you want certain iPod features?

I'm looking at three different head units...the Pioneer AVIC-D3, Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD, and the Clarion MAX675VD.

I like the Nav features of the AVIC-D3, I like the integrated 6-disc feature of the P6800, and I like the iPod integration/user functions of the Clarion. I'm leaning very heavily toward the Clarion head unit. A local reputable shop quoted me a good price installed, plus they will wire in a bypass so I can watch DVDs with the truck in Drive. However, you can get most head units to do this. I know the Kenwoods are as easy as grounding the wire that leads to the e-brake (that is all I did to the head unit I installed in my Saleen). I think the Pioneer AVIC units are hard to bypass (just something I've heard and I have no personal knowledge of).

Here's some info on each...

Clarion MAX675VD

Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD

Pioneer AVIC-D3

Good luck in your search for what works for you!

Just do your research - the pros and cons of each and go with what you like best. As TwoBlocked said, each HU will have their "perks". I was going to get the Pioneer Avic-Z1, but decided on the AVH-P6800DVD as I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 navigation unit, which has bluetooth built-in.

Anyway, I won't ramble. Good luck in your search.

I want that Nuvi 660! Almost purchased the 330 when it first came out, then I saw the 350, then the 660. Glad I waited, because I like that larger screen. I plan on picking one of those up here in the next month or so. How do you like yours?
