Factory 20" Wheels & Tires
Factory 20" Wheels & Tires
When I purchased my 06 I saw the same truck on the lot with the 20" wheels and I opted for the standard 18" KR wheels.
Now, 11 months later, I want those 20" wheels as I've seen more and more F-150's on the road with them. They really fill out the wheel wells nicely and the factory wheels look great...I'm thinking that when my tires need replacing I'll just buy the 20"s and be done.
A couple questions: Do the 20" wheels negatively affect the ride? Does anyone know what the 20" wheels sell for?
Thanks.

Well, I don't have any complaints on the ride aspect of the 20" wheels. Granted, I have never had the 18" on my KR, but the ride is great.
As far as what to expect in upgrading, it depends where you buy. You can find them on eBay from time to time, although I do see more 18" wheels vs. the 20" wheels. Plus it will depend if you are wanting the tires as well. The upgrade from Ford was $895 - I figure you will spend close to that for the wheel/tire package plus the shipping. Make sure they come with the center caps.
Good luck!

My KR came with the 20" wheels (it was one of the reasons I bought it). The only complaint is the Pirelli tires flat spot overnight. So the first few miles in the morning are a bit bumpy but as they round out, the ride is oh so fine.

As for my experience, I think the 20's ride a bit rougher with less sidewall to take up the road shock, and the tread pattern of the Perelli 20's is less aggressive than the BFG or Goodyears offered in factory 18's.
Thanks for all the responses...I will measure because it must be the perception that the 20" fills out the wheel wells better.
I assumed the ride may be somewhat compromised with the lack of sidewall on the 20"s...
Thanks again.
