I need a bench seat in the front :(

What a dilemma I find myself in.

I love this truck more than any of my previous trucks, and planned to keep it about 10 years. But, a sudden lifestyle change has occurred, and I find I need a bench seat in the front.

I'm sure there is not a cost effective way of converting to a bench, so I guess I am going to have to trade in.

Problem is, I don't really have the cash to trade up, and I don't really want to add a truck payment to my already strained budget.

Anybody else faced a similar problem, and what did you do to resolve it?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I would think it would be cheaper to buy an F-150 bench seat and have it covered in KR leather than to take the hit of trading her in.

What would be the sudden lifestyle change that you have to have a bench?

My guesses:
1. 4th kid on the way.
2. New girlfriend who wants to snuggle while driving.
3. Something with work where you need it for space to put a laptop, etc.
4. Suddenly gained 300 pounds and cannot fit in the captain's chairs

I realize you said you didn't have extra cash to trade, but how about a used 2005 King Ranch Expy?

Yeah, that was my first thought, but the flow thru console and floor shifter will make that a much more difficult conversion.

4. See #2 but add a little road head (sorry, i couldn't resist)

Divorce/new girlfriend/kids/need room for 6

Actually lost 45 pounds in the last 4 months, in part due to the divorce. I fit much better in the captain chairs now.

I don't need a King Ranch, and prefer the pickup to the SUV.

I do need the power fold mirrors, in order to get it in the garage.

Don't the new Lariats have the PF mirrors?

I just looked on Ford's site and you can get power folding mirrors on a Lariat. They are a $160 option.
