I have not done it yet, but I was thinking of the MTX Thunderform. It's pre-fitted, goes behind the rear seat, and is color matched.

I would get a second opinion on those thunderforms...they flex....I have heard them and they sound real muddy even with good power.

The problem we face with the F250's is the rear power window. We are VERY limited on the boxes. Supercrewsound makes one...its just average...I bought one, however, my next move is to have my rear seat moved forward 1.5 inches so I can get a larger box. Also, small boxes mean shallow subs. Shallow subs also mean limited lows. After much research I went with EarthQuake SMS 10's. I need more power for them but they sound as good as it gets for .45 cubft of air per side.

When I redo my system, I am going with 12's. If you have an F150, you can get nice boxes for under the rear seat.

I had 2 Punch P2 10s with 150 watts and it would rattle your teeth. Those are pretty good subs for the money.

For me, I have had to learn the expensive way on what doesn't sound good with box/sub combinations....my advice is try and listen to what others have installed before doing it.

Good luck

Hey Rolling rock, A few opinions from you if I may? Have an 07 150 KR and I have purchased a Qlogic sub box, which are cut for a 10". Have a Memphis sub and 140 watt amp. Hooking it to the premium 6 cd H/U, not an audiophile. Any suggestions where to mount the amp? And what do you think about this setup? Not that I want to be heard before seen, but some nice bass sound. Always open for advice.

Hey Acesfirend....boy after today talking stereos is the last thing on my mind expect how to find the f'er that broke into my truck and stole my Pioneer.

Anyway, back to topic. I am not really familiar with the Audiophile set ups...what I can tell you is that you can put your amps behind the rear seat on the back wall. If you look at my signature I have a link to the gallery that shows my F150 getting amps and a cap...pending the power you may want to consider a CAP or your lights may dim when the bass hits hard...but this doesn't happen much with 1 amp and 140 watts. There is plenty of room behind the rear seats, however you will have to cut the back carpet, but no one looks back there as the seat stays put. There is a trick to removing the rear seat and once you get it off, I would put tape around the clips to make it easier in the future.

That set up sounds fine...just need to check the air pace required for that sub. You want to stay away from the minimum space...more is better to a point. That power seems fine but you will see that the sub will track better with more power. Is this a mono amp?

R/R, Is it a mono amp? I'll admit I'm stereo stupid. But I think what you are asking me if it is for a sub only? Not sure but it sounds like it is for speakers also. I'll give you all the info, Memphis model 16-PR 70.2, fully variable high & low pass crossovers, 9db bass boost@45 Hz, high low level inputs, pwm mosfet power supply, bridgeable, 35x2 rms/ 140 watts max power. <whew> The guy who sold me the set said that they would be a nice match for the small Qlogic box.

Just had the install on my system. I have the premium ford system, 6cd w/mp3 jack, not the audiophile system that has the factory sub. The sub box is a Qlogic, a Memphis 10" sub, and a memphis 140 total watt amp. The installer used one of those decoder boxes that was tapped into behind the head unit. He ran 4gauge along the right side rocker to the amp which is between the jack and the sub box. I wanted a system that had some punch but not something that blurred my vision, or was heard before seen. I am happy what has been put together. The amp is only turned about half way up, and the outher dail which I really can"t say what it does, but is at about 70 htz. The head units bass level is now at half and the treble about three qtr. the bass bumps you in the back and the highs are still there. New Zapco door speakers will be the next upgrade. Not bad for a total investment, w/install for just under $490.

Was curious for those with Super Duties, has anyone tried or heard anything about the JL Stealthbox? Just looking for something to add a bit more bass to the truck, and seemed like an easy addition to the factory system:

Any feedback would be appreciated.

That looks great! How much for just the box without the subs?

Not bad. I'm looking at your pic, and it appears that the color of the carpet on the box is slightly off from the carpet in the truck. Is it just the pic, or can you tell that much of a difference in person? I guess it really only shows with the seat up, right? Did you have to relocate the jack/tools and factory amp and all that stuff originally mounted under the seat?

I wouldn't say it matches perfectly, but it's close enough (really close). I took the jack out and threw it in the bed. Have two amps mounted behind the seat.

I have them both, but I like the sound of the MTX better. I have Dynamat all around so you can't really hear anything outside, but when I have all 4 windows down and the volume on say 25, it's pretty loud. Forgot the amp names. It's an off brand owned by JL Audio.
