I think the only one duped here was you dude; most around here are not 16 years old and realize that new model years are not released in early Feb. The old "I'm at a car show and can't resist jumping aboard and hamming it up" shots are pretty self-evident.

Just another opportunity for most of us to talk about the '08 and the new chaparall and for you to prove how crafty and wiley you are...

4/1, of course, being the date that the '09s finally appear on dealership lots (and the new Postal Service tax on e-mail kicks in, etc, etc, etc)...

Interesting article:

http://media.ford.com/newsroom/featu...?release=24442

"Super Duty is a week ahead of schedule, and the quality is right where we want it to be," he said. "The trucks will be in dealer showrooms in the first quarter of 2007, as promised."

The "he" being the plant manager in Ky where these are made.

Also interesting:

"Ford will complete the redesign of its F-Series light-truck lineup when it launches a new F-150 sometime in mid-2008."

So I stand corrected: motor companies on the rocks can, do, and will release new model years in Feb of the year prior...

I was just thinking that as of Dec 31, 2008, there will be some '08 owners out there with two-year-old trucks. Amazing...

Yeah you can definitely buy an '08 superduty right now. I played around in an 08 f350 2wd lariat at a local dealership today and the salesman was ready to sell it to me for the extremely low price of only 52 grand...haha The 6.4s are certainly more quiet the ford's previous diesel engines but anyone who believes that motor can be mistaken for a gas motor is completely wrong. It still has that diesel sound to it.

edit*
I read an article somewhere yesterday about the first '08 to be delivered to its owner. It was a 450 King Ranch, so they are out there for sure. But like Welfare said, you may have to do a little searching to find one.

Nice KR, but I wish Ford will come out with a solid color KR on top of the 2 tone.

All I've read about the new superduty's tells me they are functional and used to vent excess heat from the engine compartment. Also, the grill color indicates the engine: 'Black' = gasser, 'Red' = diesel.
