Yup..they got the lot.

Well, its late at night here and I just have one TV programme (Sorry program) that I want to see.

The Beeb (BBC) have made a series about the real America.
Not the stereotypical place portrayed by so much of the media.

Tonight it's about the changing face of ranching in Montana. A place I've been to and loved very much, so I'm off to watch it now !!

Cheers

Montana is atop of my favorite places in the United States. Untamed, unaltered, and unscathed beauty; it's amazing country. One of the locals asked me during a recent trip, "...don't you just love it out here?". Naturally, I replied to the effect that it was my favorite place in the United States. He responded to that with "...great, we're glad to have you out here for a quick trip. When you get home, don't tell a damn soul how pretty it is out here. There are already too many damn Californians and other outsiders out here!...".

I'm still managing a couple of projects in and around the Phosphate, MT area. Unfortunately, they are winding down; the end is in sight (pending the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)) agrees with our closure plans). Naturally, this is good for my mining client but, very unfortunate for me. Tis' the life as a consultant I suppose...

If anyone is going through the Missoula Airport (Lenny, have you been through MSO?), watch out for the VERY large mounted grizzly that is at the top of the stairs to the terminal.

That was one of the points of the program, Brad.

Ranchers are having a hard time but land values are soaring.
It's therefore a huge temptation to sell up to the land developers, either to the millionaire owners of ranches (Who don't ranch). ie certain film stars, or to developers making gated communities....in Montana !!! Can you imagine ?!!

Know what you mean about keeping it quiet too.
I feel exactly the same way about our part of the Rio Grande Valley when we are in the States, and our part of Wales when in the UK.

Strangely the next program in the series I mentioned above is about gated communities in California.....I can only imagine what it will be like !
Not Montana for sure !
