My First Mod...

...isn't what I guessed it would be. I thought for sure it would be a performance mod, but I am waiting to rack up a few more miles.

The only option I really wanted but didn't get on my truck was the 5" oval chrome steps. The plastic running boards are fine in the darker colors, but the tan ones really show dirt and grime that gets down into the texture and it is really hard to keep looking nice. Plus, the chrome steps are a little more appropriate for the 4X4 IMO. I like the OEM Ford 5" oval way better than the after market ones, dealer had 'em in stock for a fair price so I got 'em.

Tinted front windows, cold air intake and tune are up next.

looks great Tex - I'm not a chrome fan, but I like it better than the board we have running down the side of these trucks. How much are they from Ford ?

I'm not a tubular fan but, on the white trucks, they look pretty good. I'm a big fan of chrome with white.

Nice mod!

Off topic observation.... and maybe this has been discussed in the past...

Are the KR 20's not color matched?

Those are my 2005 18"s. Notice the insets are beige... Are the 2006's like this?

Yep RP. there are no color inserts (as you said in the other thread). I like it better that way on the 20" styled wheels.

I like the OEM Ford oval tubes much better than most of the aftermarket ones, they are wider and flat.

They sticker for $495 when they come on the truck and I got them for just under that from the dealer.

Gotcha! I didn't realize that the 06' didn't have it! Sorry to hijack the tubular thread... Back to the tubes!

I wonder if the tubular step pads on the 2003 KR's (the beige ones) would match the tubular step pads on those (the black ones)?
