Paint Matching.
Paint Matching.
My King Ranch is the Dark Copper/Arizona Beige combination. I have a white tool box that I would like to repaint to match the truck. Has anyone found any of the spray paints that matches the Dark Copper, I think it is T5, pretty closely??

If you're hell-bent on doing it yourself, check out paintscratch.com.

Heck yeah man... use the connection! I just have this feeling that if you try to match it up yourself that you may not be pleased with it.
Most body shops have paint systems that can electronically match your paint rather than a paint shop like paintscratch attempting to match it up.
Paintscratch is pretty well respected but, it's tough to mimick factory paint from a rattle can!

Have it colormatched with LINE-X. Most LINE-X dealers (including myself) use Dupont Nason automotive paint for color matches. It won't reflect light the same way as your truck, but it will be the same color.

Not enough light, sorry...

What kind of ballpark would I be looking at for that? I was thinking of powder coat because it would be more durable, but the LINE-X just might be better. They are color matching my spray in liner that is being done right now so that might be the way to go.
Well, I not a fan of powdercoating for some reasons and I am a fan of powdercoating for other reasons.
I'm not a fan because generally speaking, powdercoating on nerfs, rail bars, Ranch Hand bumpers, and some tool boxes only last about 3 years. Powdercoating can chip, and rather easily if the metal was not clean and dry. Once it chips, it's downhill from there. The two BIG factors in the durability of powdercoating is the metal and the thickness of the powdercoating.
I am a fan of powdercoating because it brings me business! I spray messed up powdercoated things all the time. For a color matched toolbox, your looking at about $200 for the exterior, and little more for the interior. Color matching costs more than black. If your trying to compare the durability of LINE-X to powdercoating, the two are not even in the same ballpark.
Here's a toolbox we sprayed a long time ago for an accessory shop. They use it for a table in their wainting area. SORRY, IT'S A CHEVY!

Hmm... didn't realize that (or maybe I did? -- I can't remember). Nice work TG... now that all of that is out of the way and you got a free plug, make sure not to advertise here too much...
If anyone has questions for TG, please email or PM him... Thanks!

Honestly, I'm not here to advertise. I have two Ford dealers as clients and I should and need to keep up with what owners want and need. Also, I know a lot about bedliners and accessories. I think I can help people if they ask. Remember, I can't ship my bedliner product to anyone, so the chances of me actually getting business here is extremely low.
Anyway, thanks and let me know if you have any questions!
