Last week as I was leaving the ranch in Wyoming and a pheasant flew right into the KR grille. It pulverized the grille and all that was left were a few pieces of the honeycomb. I guess I now had the motivation to order the Harley Grille. I got on the cell and ordered it and had it overnight shipped to my Illinois home. It was waiting when I arrived. I decided to give up on the chrome trim and try white so the boys at the body shop quickly went into action yesterday. I like it better than stock. I am back out to WYO tonight but will have to return to the shop next month to have the A/C condensor replaced. Damn bird bent the condensor about 2 inches!

Hey, that doesn't look bad at all. I'm usually not crazy about mixing trim packages but I do hate the stock chrome on white. In fact, while waxing this weekend, I noticed that the chrome is already speckled with discoloration from insect hits. Can you just replace the chrome piece or is this all or nothing?

 

I like it better than the chrome! Very nice! What did the body shop charge you to paint it?

 

svermill...the HD grille comes with a black trim. They taped it, primed it, etc and painted it. The chrome trim off the old KR grille was undamaged...but it never clicked with me. So it's sitting in the garage for the time being. When I was trying to decide, the guy told me the repainted trim would pit less than the chrome trim.

But, I am bringing the truck back for the A/C condensor (that will be $250 installed). And, they know me and have worked on my cars & trucks for several years. Although it is a Ford shop, I even bring in my M3 for touchup work. They do great work and know how to retain my buisness.

 

The designers on Ford's team for King Ranch need to see this. I believe you have a great compliment to your truck with this grille.

Okay, I'm sold on the look. Now I have to think seriously about getting one. How did you order it, can I look online first, and did you say it comes in black to start with? Might look good stock with my black KR...

Ordered from fordparts.com...the stock number is available somewhere here via a serach. And yes, comes with black trim and Ford emblem.
