Engineering does this with a lot of repairs under warranty.

Quintin thanks for the input...you called it originally regarding the cost cap and your last post is almost verbatim what the service rep told me when I questioned the long term reliability of a rebuild. The rep put a lot of faith in the dealer's trans guy and felt his work would hold its own against the work at the factory.

As I said, I've been very impressed with the integrity of everyone at the dealer since even before the initial KR purchase so I've got no real reason to doubt them. It's good to hear someone in the know support what I'm hearing from the service personnel.

Thanks,
Brian

[QUOTE=Quintin]Because he thinks it shifts a little rougher than it did before, he should scream about the Lemon Law? Good grief, some of you guys are pain in the *** customers. [QUOTE=Quintin]

Yes, he should make them aware that there is an issue if he feels strongly about.

Well my fears have perhaps come true...

My concern that the trans may not be as reliable now that it's been through an overhaul appear to have come true. It's only been three weeks and 1,000 miles since the rebuild and I am losing fluid, the KR is once again back at the dealer.

Pulled the truck out of the garage the other day to move some things around and noticed a 5"x5" puddle of trans fluid on the floor. In the brief period I had the truck pulled out it left another stain on the driveway! Hopefully it's just a loose gasket or hose, but suffice to say I'm less than happy.

Any words of wisdom?

That's strike two on Ford. I would ask for a 7year 75K prem. care warranty. I bet you get it. :santa: :santa: :santa:
