Question Thinking of selling my KR

A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to sell my KR. I wasn't planning on it but if he wants to buy it for the right price I may just do it and buy something new. I told him I would sell it to him for $24k. It's an '03 screw 4x4 with 36k miles. Am I way off base here on the price or what are your opinions? Just curious what they are going for used. I did a quick search around here and there isn't that many out there anyway. My dealer told me retail would be $26,500. But that seems a little high. Any comments?

I think that's a good asking price. And, if you were in Texas, I'd probably ask you if I could test drive it this weekend! I love those KR's, and they're very popular in the resale department as well (i.e. they will pretty much sale regardless of what price you put on it as long as it's reasonable)

If you can get that - Do it! Got my '01 KR 4x4 for 17k.

Thanks for the responses guys. On a trade I think I could get about $21k. The gas prices hurt the resale a little right now, but with the winter coming around here, it's a good time for 4x4's to sell. I have a lot of extras on it too. I have the factory AZ Beige tonneau cover, a Line-x bedliner, Magnaflow exhaust system, remote start system, XM radio, side window shileds, bug shield, and a trailer brake controller already on it. I put new BFG AT KO's (285/70/17) on it less than 10k ago too. those were almost $800 by themselves. I don't think $24k is a bad price for it to sell it outright. If I could do that, I would make out pretty good on a new one too. If I traded it in, I know I wouldn't get the same deal. My dealer told me on a cash deal he would sell me a new vehicle, regardless of what it is, for $300 over his cost. Then add all the rebates and cash back incentives on top of that. Plus I got in the mail a $1000 incentive from Ford credit if I bought a new vehicle, plus I have a rebate on my credit card that I can put towards a new vehicle also. So I could make out pretty good if I could sell it outright. We will see I guess.

Will the next vehicle be a King Ranch as well?

Haven't decided totally what I will do if I do sell it. Looking maybe at a 250 SD but not sure. I will let you all know how it turns out.

Part of the country you are in has a lot to do with the price. In the Houston area, there is no shortage of trucks. Even KRs. If they are rare in your area then $24K would be a good deal.
