Recurring Topic - Ford ESP Experience

All:

I know this is a recurring topic throughout the forums (I have already searched and read extensively). However, most threads seem to devolve into whether or not extended warranties are a value or a rip off. I'm not interested in such a debate at this point. Rather...

I've settled on a 7/75 ESP plan. I haven't settled on "Extra Care" or "Premium Care," but that's somewhat beside the point. Of those who have bought either plan and HAVE USED IT, what was your experience? Positive or negative? Specifics in either case would be helpful.

Thanks for sharing,

Scott

Don't know a lot about them but, I know I've heard numerous folks talk about buying them here: http://www.fordwarrantycentral.com/ --- they seem to have VERY good rates apparently.

OK, thanks RP, I'll give them a ring in the morning. I found my best online price before calling my local dealership. I didn't buy my truck from them (it's actually a Lincoln/Mecury dealership that I'm having my service done at) so I really wanted to buy the warranty from them. They did more or less match what I came up with online (but I got the feeling they only played ball because I knew the price range). Either way, I'll give these folks a ring before I make any decisions...

I have the zero deductable ESP plan and yes I have used it and I believe I have already got my initial investment back on it. My sun roof went out a couple months ago and they had to replace it and put a brand new one in including new wiring system for it. I have had 2 batteries put in I have been towed 3 times because of my battery (2 times under original factory warranty) I have used the road side assitance for a flat tire....and it wasn't because I couldn't do it myself...I was in a suite and didn't want to get dirty.

So in my opinion it is well worth the investment...personally I would go for the zero deductible plan...they give you a loaner car for free for as long as they have your truck...which in my case was 3 days.

OK, thanks for that Skagel. I've never bought one of these before, but this time it seems worth it (esp considering the problems some in these forums have had!). I work independently these days. Right now I have more work than I can take. But, long-term, maybe I'll be in a dry spot when WHAM - major repair. It would be nice to know that won't hurt where it counts.

Grammatical? Sorry, I just couldn't resist! We all get in a hurry with these things, and we all make mistakes. (We all? Is that proper? )

Well, I don't know if the salesperson I spoke to knew his prices were a little high or what, but he couldn't get off the phone with me fast enough. He closed by saying "if you have any problems filling out the online form, call Jerremy so-and-so, OK? Bye."

Sheesh.

Thanks anyway RP. The more sources you can get in touch with the better off you are, the more confident you can be in your "best" price.
