disturbance,

The answer is yes... with a little modification. I myself wanted two 8" subwoofers to fit behind the two bucket seats in the back. I did the whole 'back and forth' with Mark @ Supercrewsound.com and he said that we could fit the two in one spot behind the passenger bucket, but I would have to remove the plastic piece to allow room for the box. I think I will wait it out until I can afford a JL Stealthbox for my center console. By the way, tell me about your truck because I am referencing a 2001 KR. You may have a newer one, or one with a 60/40 bench and I may be speaking out of turn!

Here's the link to the box I was talking about:

Yes, it all depends what truck you have. I currently have 1 8" Clarion camouflage subwoofer on the tranny hump up front (selling it though to put in an Expy console if anyone's interested) - [shameless plug...]

and I have the JL stealthbox for my rear console with a 12W7 in it (I keep blowing the smaller 12's with my amp, 2 Polk Momo 12's and a 12W6v2).

Does it sound right being in the front? I guess I am 'old school' cause I always believed the subs went in the back. For that I have been a little cautious in buying a stealthbox (although I really want one bad!)... Soooo... How much?

Yeah, it actually does sound good up front. I have had a 12" in a stealthbox in the rear console (they make that for the KR by the way, so you wouldn't have to worry about it being up front) and I blew it a couple weeks ago, so the only bass I had was the Clarion 8" up front. It actually sounded quite good. I was surprised that I really couldn't tell the difference in where the bass was coming from.

JL was to expensive for me so I found a shop called "To The Max" out in east Texas were my cousins live and asked if they would be willing to make one for
the back console. Let me tell you I have not seen the JL box in person but they did a awesome job and I put a square Kicker L7. Cost was $150
Droped it of in the morning were finish early afternoon.

Where at in East Texas? I too find the Stealthbox is a bit pricey for my taste and would like a little bass enhancement in my King Ranch.

You might find it's Nacogdoches.....

But don't worry, a lawyer friend of mine has his business there and until I stuck my nose in, no one had noticed (for 20 years) that the town's name was mis spelt on his business cards !!

Here's what the Clarion Sub looks like (and mind you, the flash created the look that the paint is a different color -- it was much closer than what it appears without a bright white light smacking it from the flashbulb)...

I had one in my old truck and loved it... it's not a window rattling effect (not what I wanted) but certainly adds a nice level of bass beyond the factory system (which is bassless).

FYI, a JL stealthbox for the rear console showed up on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JL-AU...spagenameZWDVW

This is what I have in my rear console, with a different subwoofer in it. I bought the empty box and put my own sub in it. RP's right though, the Clarion one is pretty nice for an 8" subwoofer, not earthshattering but it rounds out the sound quite nicely.

I've passed on one eBay had to offer (a 10" Stealthbox) for $300. Guess that is a good price, but still too much to invest right now for improved sound. I'm still in the phase of wanting to "do up" the exterior! If anyone has a sub enclosure f/s and is inexpensive, email me! I'll have a few new photos of the new small mods posted soon!

If you need a sub to go with it, that is a good deal. Considering a good sub will cost between $150-$200 (could be more like my 12W7), that would mean the box is about $150, which is what 02KR quoted further up to have a custom box made. By the way, this is a 12" not a 10" like the front console stealthbox. They make two of them for the KR, one for the front console, one for the back.

I have an '01 Harley Supercrew...is there enough room to put a couple of 10" subs under the captain chairs? Has there been any alternatives to the stealthbox since this forum was posted?
