I have a few questions regarding KING Ranch truck. I am in the process of purchasing one myself.
I am in military(USMC) and just returned from deployment. I am waiting to go home (TX) to buy my King Ranch. I am getting the Copper one 4X2. I know a truck should be 4X4 but I really have no use for it.
I have been coming to this forum daily and admiring everyones trucks so I can't wait to get my own and post pics.
This is a great site and great place for information!
I will wait for some replies to start asking my million questions.

Sgt, thank you for your service!!!
Fire away. I learn more and more about my vehicle and the endless possibility of upgrades day in and day out here.
Fire away with questions. Also, I find a ton of information and, often, answers to my questions searching old threads. If you haven't owned a KR yet, the leather is quite a conversation starter and you'll love it. Its also a labor of love, sir, so you'll need to really research takin' care of it, cleanin' it, conditionin' it, etc. There is so much information on this forum about product reviews, methods, etc.
Welcome! Nice color choice too!!!

Being Military as well (USAF) I would reconsider and get you a 4X4! Because better resale value and the other is that being military we all move all around. Your next base could be where there is plenty of snow and ice. You will wish you had it then, so spend the extra and you will be ready for whatever....
Take it easy
My brother is in the USMC, where are you stationed at and what do you do?

You will enjoy your truck.
Don't get talked into the 4x4 unless you really know yourself that you will use it.
I've had both...in an area where you'd think it would be useful.
I only used the 4x4 once, and once when I did get stuck in the 4x2 somebody pulled me out after about 3 minutes !

Thank you all for your warm welcome. This will be my first truck (I have always had cars) and I have been in love with the KR since I first saw it online. I haven't seen it in person yet but can't wait. I will definetely post some pics when I get it
Like I sated before I found this site and have visited daily since then. I have read all the past posts and have found great information and can't wait to buy a few things mentioned on here..... Kleen Wheels, GAP Grill, and King Ranch Leather Conditioner
I have gone over and over wether I should get 4X4 but I honestly can't see myself ever using it. Although I am military and do change duty stations alot I still don't think I have need for it.
As for myself I am stationed in NC. (MCAS Cherry Point) but originally from Tx(Dallas). I am a Parachute Rigger and currently work on EA-6B Prowlers. Just got back from 7 month deployment in Iraq.
I can't wait to finally sit in my King Ranch.

Welcome, just go ahead and get a 4wd in case you ever need it. Step 2 do what I did and call Mike over at troyer performance and order the Xcal 2. That way you have everything you ever dreamed of in a truck power, looks, comfort etc.
Well, Hello Marine. I am thirty years in the Army and up here in Raleigh, NC. We have some great dealers up here in the Raleigh area and my boss just got a dark stone KR and I have the Copper. They are great trucks, you will love yours when you get it. If you need any help or have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

02KR - What exactly is the XCal 2? Also, I have read the past thread regarding the AirForce 1. I am not too savy when it comes to these things but from reading everyone's input I am going to get one.
As stated in my past emails I have many question since most of the people on here are very knowledgable on KR and have been faithful owners. I will start posting once my truck is actually in my possesion
I am just waiting to get my hands on mine and will start the add ons. I must say that I planned on leaving it as is since it is a beautiful truck stock but since finding this forum I continue on writing things down to add to the truck.
All my deployment tax free money is going to be spent soon.

Welcome aboard and nice choice of colors. I, like most of us, are always interested in personalizing our trucks, whether it be performance or looks and I can say this is the best site out there! Thanks to all the guinea pigs and professionals for sharing their experiences!
Xcal2 will be on order Monday!!!! Thanks for helping me spend my money!!

Take a look in the chips & programming section of the forum and you will hear all about the Xcalibrator 2. I recieved mine yesterday and let me tell you it feels like a new truck. Money well spent and will not effect reliability of your truck. I bought my KR 2 months ago and have already spent a lot of $ on it.
latinosgt, I'm not a King Ranch owner, but I wanted to chime in a say THANKS for your service to this country. Your sacrifices do not go unoticed. Were you in Iraq? I have a cousin there now and constantly worry about her. Good luck with the KR, I have seen them in person, and let me tell you, that thing is unreal! Wish I would have gotten one!

FX4&EXCURSION - Thank you for your kind words. I did just come back from a 7 month deployment in Iraq (Al Asad) to be exact.
To everyone else - I don't know the exact protocal on asking questions but I am needing info on finding the Kleen wheels for my king ranch aswell as a locking gas cap.
Is the Xcal 2 seperate from the Air Force One? I have readl through the threads on here but since I am not too savvy on these topics I am looking for some clarity.
I am a Marine, soyou have to make it Marine proof for me.. break it down..
Thanks a bunch to all for helping me spend my money..
I am upgrading purely based on everyone's inputs on here. I will jump on the bandwagon and get the Air Force one and may get the XCal 2 if someone can explain to me what it does.
