What is the wave?
It's an old tradition amongst certain brands of car owners.
It really started back in the 20's and 30's when owners of more expensive vehicles (Aston, Bentley, Rolls Royce etc) would greet each other when passing.
Just an indication of recognising someone with equal 'taste'.
It still happens occasionally...over here in the UK when driving older MG's etc.
I understand that one or 2 people in KR's have received similar recognition from other owners.
Of course with so many vehicles on the roads these days it doesn't happen much....try it in Texas with an F150 and you'll need an artificial powered waving hand.
If you don't get the recognition you think you deserve when you try it, then as well as waving, stick two fingers up as well.
If you're old enough to remember Churchill it will get one reaction, otherwise lock your doors and speed away !!

No, Lenticular, the King Ranch wave is something altogether different and more significant.
It is performed by grasping the two middle fingers with the thumb and raising your pointing finger and pinky finger high in the air. Almost like the "rocker" icon on this web site.
To make the wave really special, you can yell "Hook'em Horns!" at the top of your lungs at the other driver.
That, my friend, is the KR wave!

Yes...I really DID know what the actual form of the KR wave was...I wear a Longhorns sweatshirt and have even had the "Hook 'em Horns" wave in a coffee shop in Mid Wales....quite a surprise !
I was merely intimating where the actual derivation of any sort of wave bewteen vehicle owners derives !!

Hook'em... er, KR Wave
That is not the wave I will ever get. If I get that wave they will more than likely get a one finger salute or if I am feeling nice that day I will just make the sign and turn it upside down.....go sooners!
